Wow, what a terrible reception we received. We checked on Google maps and it said the restaurant is open every day from 09h00 to 02h00, closed on Wednesdays. So yesterday afternoon (Sunday) at 4pm, we had finished work on our land and felt like a drink and a snack. The door was open, the sign said "aberto", and we walked in. Well, I've never in my life felt so uncomfortable and so unwelcome. There was a table of about 10 people who all stopped talking, turned to stare at us for about a minute, saying nothing. Then one woman at the table said, "Boa tarde?" The impression was that we were disturbing their family get-together and what did we want?? We said, almoço? Não! Petiscos? Bebidas? Não! Não! We turned on our heels and walked out and even though they're just up the road from where we now live and we love to spend time (and money!) at different restaurants, they will NEVER see us again!
This restaurant is right by a café, shared parking by the road so it can get full. One of those places that the locals stare at you when you come in. The food is decent, but they serve their regulars and friends first, and they take their time. Don't go there in a hurry. The ladies in the kitchen are very nice.
