The reviews were as scary as possible. For courage I had to drink wine on an empty stomach. I tried only 2 oysters, so that it wouldn’t get too bad if something happened. It was delicious, but I was confused that out of 8 oysters, only one shrank from the lemon. Apparently they were already cut. I will leave my review in a day. All three of us are fine! I enjoyed our time.

Great place for those who love oysters. They are fresh and made in different ways. The place is charming and the charm begins with the boat that we have to take to cross the estuary, in just under 3 minutes you are at the access ramp to the restaurant. Great place to enjoy a nice lunch on a sunny day. We ordered natural and gratin oysters, prawns with salicornia, breaded calamari, cracked eggs. Desserts closed with a flourish. Soft egg ice cream with sponge cake. The service is very pleasant too. We loved it and will certainly return. There is parking near the Marina.

In 2023, I was at Ostraveiro for the first time and having been so well received and had such a positive experience, to celebrate a birthday, I decided to return.
In March 2024, I contacted them to reserve a table/space for a lunch that would last throughout the afternoon/evening, for around 30-40 people, for 06/29/2024.

I contacted Ostraveiro, who were always very attentive and ready to respond.
In exchange for several emails, we had decided on the menu, price, dietary restrictions and other details.

On 06/21/2024, as agreed, I will send the final list of guests and a summary of everything that had been agreed and defined for the day. There would be 35 people, including adults and children. The email was responded to on the same day: "Good Afternoon, I will send it to my chef. Thank you".

On 06/25/2024, at 6pm, I am contacted by a man, with whom I had never had contact, who informs me "unfortunately we will have to cancel because we have a problem on the island!". It also informs that the only option would be on another day or on Sunday (06/30/2024) at 5pm. I explained whether either hypothesis would be completely impossible since they had seen guests from afar and that accommodations were reserved.
As there was no alternative, they just said "So when you want to come back, ask to speak to me and I'll take care of you!".

Between sleepless nights and trying to find a space that could accommodate 35 people in 4 days, for a lunch planned in advance and all the logistics that had already been created around it, I was left with the feeling that something wasn't working. right, especially because one of the guests contacted the space to find out if they would have a quiet space to breastfeed, to which they replied yes, that they would have all the conditions to do so that day.

In view of this, I return to communicating with Ostraveiro who give me their word of honor that this is a problem, which is affecting them greatly, that they had to cancel everything, including accommodation, and that they don't know when they will be open again to the public.

However, what those responsible for the establishment don't know is that I live nearby, with a view of the space, so on 06/29/2024 I was able to see that they were in operation, that they were hosting a great event.

I understand that the volume of revenue provided by that event was greater than what my lunch with friends would provide (and perhaps other people's lunch/dinner for that day), but the lack of decorum, transparency, denying it several times when I already The reality was obvious, finding a solution that forced me to clearly say that it was not acceptable, makes me here complaining... about the attitude of the managers/responsible people at Ostraveiro.

They would still have a customer if they were sincere. So, they didn't lose one, they lost all those who were going to have lunch that day and who were incredulous at Ostraveiro's attitude.

As for my lunch, don't worry, it went beautifully, in a wonderful space, and without food poisoning, as this is also a common occurrence in Ostraveiro lately.

Mass poisoning!

Horrible experience: immediately after the visit, our group of 9 people started to have severe poisoning: vomiting, fever of 38, diarrhea, weakness (for 2 weeks)!
Some went straight to Urgence and to the doctor. Disgusting experience, this place should be closed for inspection.
We will write a collective complaint.
We are waiting for the book of complaints (Livro de reclamacoes).
This place should definitely close for sanitary inspection. You can't go there!

Upd: They do not answer on email for reclamation! Just ignoring food poisoning of people & all expenses after poisoning including urgent medical help!!!

Place to avoid, due to the frequency of food poisoning, when there shouldn't be any; However, in recent months it has happened a few times.
A few days ago, in a group of 13 people, at least 5 felt unwell, diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness; inadmissible! One of them had to postpone the flight she had scheduled because she was physically incapacitated, not only to travel but also to work!
You can't play with customers' health!
Maybe a visit from ASAE wouldn't be a bad idea!
Update: they paid the costs of medicines, however, and at the very least, they should also return the cost of the meal (45) and reimburse those who were unable to work and travel.

A danger to public health! Everyone who ate oysters got food poisoning. I can only recommend a visit from the authorities.

We got severe poisoning after eating oysters in this establishment. The doctor, after listening to the complaints, suggested that it could be cholera. We spent the whole night in the hospital. The dinner bill is 50 euros, the hospital bill is 140 euros.
I didn't notice the oysters shrinking from the lemon. The boy who drives the boat served us fresh oysters. Question: Did he wash his hands?
Now this place will proudly bear the title of Otraveiro!

The worst experience of my life. I do not recommend anyone to eat oysters, especially in this place.
8 of 9 people in our group were very badly poisoned by oysters: severe vomiting, diarrhea, very high fever, terrible headaches, weakness, bones pain.

We visited this place on May 26, but we are still suffering from the above syndromes
