Excellent meal. Found this place online while driving from Geres to Douro, and not disappointed one bit. The food was amazing and the service fantastic. The lamb chops are to die for. Don't miss it if you're in the area

I can honestly say after reading all the excellent reviews, that I felt I was in a different restaurant tonight! Whilst the decor itself is fabulous, the food and service certainly isn't. It was the last night of our holiday and we left, what we thought was, the best restaurant in the area until last.. What a disappointment. The evening started with a dirty wine glass. Ok this happens. Then our starters arrived. Padron Peppers under cooked, in fact still raw. My mushrooms and bacon were ok. But truly nothing special. We waited a while for our second course. The restaurant was busy, inside and out. So a wait is perhaps to be expected. The food arrived. It was all completely cold. I called the waiter and said my secretos de porco were cold.. So he took them away and eventually brought some back which were hot, by which time the rice and chips (crisps) were completely cold. By this time we had gone passed it.. Asked for the bill. Were told with so many people that this happens.. Seriously?! We said how disappointed we were, paid and left. I have never written a bad review.. But I was so bitterly disappointed by our experience that I felt I had to with this restaurant being rated number 1 on Trip Advisor. How can so many reviews be so good.. Change of chef? Who knows!
