I ordered a shrimp moqueca and if it weren't for the dessert (passion fruit cheesecake) I would have come home hungry... A place where tourists go to see each other. What a true “hidden gem”. This is one of those restaurants that will bring back good memories years later. Get a spot out in the garden and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and magnificent views out over the ocean. When it is chilly they will give you a blanket. For the kids there is a playground and they enjoyed it a lot.
Parking was easy but we were early. When we left it was a bit more challenging. We had a table in the garden and just ordered food to share. We had the potatoes, codfish, pulled pork, mushroom, etc. All of it was really nice, fresh and tasteful. Staff was friendly and we payed around € 125 for the entire meal (with two kids who took some bites as well).
Highly recommended if you would like to make memories!
Vegetarian options: Enough choices!
Parking: Parking is limited on the site, and a bit of a challenge along the road (very narrow). Tip; get there early. We arrived 18.00h and it was oke.

It is really nice place with a fantastic view to the ocean and atmosphere. We’re there with friends - we liked the food and service as well. There are also lots of beautiful small details and decorations, especially outside. Can definitely recommend. The only thing I am not sure if you can reach it by public transport. But if you have a car, it is really nice stop between Cabo da Roca and Sintra.

I have been coming to this place for 3 years and this time it has been so bad that I have had to leave the bad review, if you want to have a piece of bread stuck in your throat order the club sandwich, dry bread, poorly presented, it shows that they did it the rush and nothing else, apart from the time to be served at the table which is also another nightmare, the place is famous for its views and the esplanade, but today the food disappointed me.

I did not enjoy this experience at all since we arrived around 6 p.m. for a drink at my suggestion since I remembered a fabulous view on my last visit 10 years ago. We were made to wait in front of a barrier only to be told 10 minutes later that there were no tables even though we saw many free tables. Yet another amazing place... big no no for me and the other 9 people I was with. Never again

Very good place for both dinner and coffee. With a fantastic view and a very welcoming atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the area. During the winter they have a fireplace that leaves the establishment with a very comfortable environment.
I've been twice and both experiences were very pleasant. One with a beautiful day, we were able to enjoy the outdoor area and the spectacular view!!! On a rainy Monday, we enjoyed the cozy and well-decorated indoor environment. At first, the brunch options were really delicious. Lunch, the second time, was good, but nothing extraordinary for the price. On both days the service was very good! I highly recommend it!

TLDR: it's an attraction. The atmosphere and views remain wonderful, but the food has become less interesting, 6/10, despite once being the reason to visit.
Longer story, Moinho Dom Quixote used to be a lesser known restaurant, a delight for the eyes and the palette. It had an interesting diverse set of dishes, that catered to lunch and dinner. It was a local treat, with the views over Guincho Beach, the ocean, and a glimmer of Cascais.
That view remains the same, and the gardens are still as pleasant to be in. However, with new management, the menu has been... refined, to a smaller set of options catered more towards lunch and breakfast. It also became a lot busier, which has been really good for the atmosphere.
The smaller menu features less diverse options, with the Pratos da Casa being the focus dinner options. The bitoque was decent, nothing special, and dipping bread in the sauce was honestly better than the meat.
The halloumi was a saving grace.
Ps. I asked for a medium doneness, and the bitoque arrived cut in 3 small pieces, each somehow weirdly cooked with an off center medium? Slightly over cooked.
Parking: Due to popularity, and very limited parking spaces, there is always one or two poor drivers having to wait as the rest of their party goes into the restaurant. Left waiting for a parking spot.
