Restaurante Galliano in Barcelos is a hidden gem with excellent food. The shank is a must-try, falling off the bone and melting in the mouth, while the octopus is possibly the best around. The fried cheese with cranberry sauce and olives make for a tasty start, and the chocolate ice cream with lava cake is a divine finish. The service is attentive and the wine selection is top-notch. They also offer a pilgrims menu at a great price. The restaurant's oven-roasted rooster, potatoes, and rice dish are highly recommended, as well as the unique pudding made with rooster fat for dessert. A fantastic dining experience not to be missed in Barcelos.
