We had already had dinner at this restaurant twice and everything was pleasant, so much so that we went back. However, this time the atmosphere was compromised by a group of guests (only men) who spoke loudly and continuously with the heaviest swear words, sometimes two in each sentence, disturbing the otherwise calm atmosphere, as there was yet another table of foreigners as a family and two more tables with couples, in addition to our couple's table, but nothing could be heard except the lively debates in language inappropriate for a restaurant with a quiet and even slightly improved atmosphere and with high prices, in which a dish can cost €30. It is imperative that the management or owners of the restaurant decide the category of establishment they wish to manage and make choices, even if this means losing those customers on Monday... or else they could lose the others... We will not be returning ! When we want to go to a tavern, no offense to the taverns, we go and we don't complain, but if we want a serene and refined dinner and we pay for it, we don't have to be treated to language abuse, in which all the swear words you can imagine...

Great experience having lunch outside, by the garden, on a hot day. We had the octopus, which is one of the menus that has a side of vegetables (in addition to roasted potatoes). I can highly recommend this menu. Good flavor, generous quantity for the price. It is not cheap, but it was worth the price in our experience. Bonus: pets are allowed in the outside area.

Shame TO SAY THE TRUTH. TERRIBLE. I WENT TO EAT ON MOTHER'S DAY, AND I ASKED for €22, for 1 person. In reality, it wasn't served, nor was there a steak category, a shame. Served with a little bit of vegetables, 3 crushed potatoes. No starters, no bread, no wine. Not even for a child. I called 2 employees, asked if what they served was posta and they said it might be a mistake. In the end, after paying, the manager comes to the table to ask what was going on, and I said, now after eating and paying, what am I going to complain about??? In short, 2 steaks, 1 cod fillet and 3 colas 80€€€€. For those who want to go hungry and pay without knowing what the recommended restaurant is.

I can't even rate it.Arriving today at 12:30 p.m., we placed an order for different snacks (cachorro, moelas, tosta mista, prego no pão, fries). The gentleman leaves and comes back with the cards from the restaurant side and says “we’re sorry, we have nothing left”. I ask why and the gentleman replies “no more to do”.Surprisingly they no longer have fries on the snack side but do have them on the restaurant side.I sincerely think they said to themselves that foreigners had the means.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a while.Went on a quiet Wednesday evening, the place was almost empty. It had two entrances which are very good at hiding how nice the restaurant really is inside. I was in need of a good meal after all day of tracking the old Camino .This place really hit the spot.Started off with some fried cheese with cranberry sauce, some olives and bread with fish paste. The. Followed that up with the shank which was falling of the bone and melting in my mouth. The portions were generous and I should have been full by now but couldn’t help myself but to try the famous octopus.It was incredible, yummy, it was a real treat , I’ve been eating octopus almost at every stop of my journey and this was possibly the best one !The only thing I’d change were the potatoes I was not a fan of the way they were cooked and would rather have them served as mash or have baby new potatoes . Can’t fault them just have a different preferences.Finished off with a chocolate ice cream with lava cake and it was divine. Service was lively too, the waiter was never too much and I never had to look too far to get his attention.Wine was second to none.If you are in Barcelos this place is a must,Another note they do have pilgrims menu at €15 per person .
