After being welcomed by a super friendly woman at hotel Pousada de Bragança, upon our question where to have dinner with our kids she recommended O Geadas (instead of the Michelin starred restaurant at the hotel), as it would be more suitable for the kids (12 & 14). She was absolutely right as the atmosphere was very relaxed, the staff very kind and the food was phenomenal. They serve a lot of local food (try the local jamon appetizer for example) and don't choose the wine yourself but ask the owner and you'll be very happy. The restaurant is very reasonably priced for the high food quality. Also worth mentioning how our evening ended, as when we asked for a taxi back to the hotel, the restaurant owner refused and drove us there himself. Apparently he also owns the hotel, but it's a rare experience of service to be brought back to your hotel by the restaurant owner after enjoying a superb dinner. A rare experience and a reason to promote this restaurant (&hotel) to others. You can't go wrong.
