Found this place in 2019 while staying in Cabeçao and had to come back while staying in Galveias (30 minute drive from here) this summer. Massive portions of the best homemade Portuguese food around. John and his sister are just lovely and her cooking is Devine. They both speak excellent English which is handy to understand what the menu items are. Will definitely pay another visit before we return home.

Today, April 25th, I went into this restaurant and ordered asparagus crumbs with meat sauce. The meat was so dry that the tooth couldn't get in. The migas, a real pile of salt, with pieces of bread left undone. Being very hungry, I managed to push what little was missing in the photo. Which doesn't satisfy anyone. I asked for the bill and went crazy when I looked at the amount. Almost 28 euros! The migas were 16 euros and the jug of wine (which I rarely drank) cost close to 12 euros. Nothing, nothing else I consumed... I wanted to get away from there and I confess that I didn't even look at the details on the bill. My mistake, but nerves forced it.

Excellent experience. We booked for lunch at 1:30 pm but only arrived at 3:00 pm (we went on the butcher's wine route), and were very well received. The migas are really good, the butcher's wine is excellent and the desserts are delicious.

Luckily we were in the month of Migas, we tried the fava bean migas, they were exceptional and the meat was perfect.The eggs with asparagus starter was also delicious.Traditional dishes with excellent homemade preparation ?Everything was very good and 5 star service.Definitely repeating!!
