We had simply the best experience here today!
We have never experienced such wonderfully authentic Indian food before - the flavours were on a different level.
It is so far removed from the commercial, stodgy “Indian” food we remember back in the UK - this is so very different - a true flavour of the Punjab - made with love and served by kind hearts.
There was a very warm welcome at the door, a thoughtful explanation of all the dishes ( including the Punjabi origins, the ingredients/spices, the recommended combinations, the wines etc ) and excellent service throughout the meal - it really was quite memorable.
The starters of the Onion Bhaji and Gol Gappa Chaat were truly outstanding and set our expectations for the mains. We were not disappointed! The layers of flavour in the Honey Cauliflower and Butter Chicken were amazing - all washed down with a few glasses of chilled Alentejo wine.

When one travels there are the anticipated fantastic meals and then there are unanticipated fantastic meals. I was not expecting a profoundly delicious Indian meal in the middle of Portugal. The spinach and cauliflower starters had us all fighting at the table and was an incredible indication what was to follow. The entrees included chicken two ways, lentils, another chicken and rice dish —- I’m not completely sure as there was no printed menu that I saw. Rarely have I been so happy to put my trust in this chef’s capable hands. If you are anywhere within 100 kilometers of Caldas da Rainha make the trip you will be amply rewarded.

This family run restaurant is a delight! Everything is perfectly seasoned and delicately spiced. I’ve always enjoyed the lunchtime menu but the new street food during the evening was also incredible tonight. Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever tasted, and certainly that in Portugal! The hosts are friendly and attentive and the food is fantastic value. I will be returning again and again.

Real home cooked Indian Food. I lived in India for a number of years and this is amongst the best Indian food I have tasted. Also caters to allergies and intolerance. You’re best to book because the locals all know about this place. Go with a healthy appetite
