Terrible price/quality ratio. We ordered 2 lemon ponchas (to understand the difference with the pescador) and realized that it had more sugar, which is not to our liking, but that's ok. We ordered 1 hot dog (potatoes included) and the regular hamburger (+2€ dose of fries). The hot dog at €7.5 doesn't do it justice... I would do the same at home. The regular burger was average, however, with the “extra” of potatoes, which came in a ridiculous proportion… I don't recommend it, but to anyone, I hope you have better luck.

Das Restaurant Poncha do Lombo Doutor ist absolut fantastisch! Die Tapas-Platte war einfach himmlisch, jede einzelne Komponente perfekt zubereitet und unglaublich lecker. Das Restaurant ist gut mit dem Auto erreichbar, und man kann direkt vor dem Eingang parken. Ein echter Geheimtipp für Feinschmecker auf Madeira. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Great place to stop for some food, a beer or 5 and some poncha. The chicken wings were excellent and the fisherman's poncha and kiwi poncha are both a must. Special thanks to the girls who served us (one of the girls names was Karina, but we didn't find out the other girls names), you all deserve a raise for your hard work and friendly manner. An absolute happy place up the hill with an amazing view on the sea, really delicious snacks (e.g. the fresh mushrooms) and tasty poncha. Felt comfortable right away, also (or maybe because) it seemed that I have been the only tourist around :) They are working with a smile, which most likely is their recipe for creating this great atmosphere. Muito obrigado par uma noite agradável ;)

Do you really want to get to know Madeira in the evening? This is where the locals come, this is where you get good drinks, this is where you really get to know the life of the island. Country & people ? And there are really tasty little things to eat! Always nuts with the drink, depending on the daily offerings, but also Knofi bread or the boiled pig's trotters that are so typical of the region (look takes getting used to, taste ??)… The staff is super nice and international! Let’s go, lace up your shoes and get up here to the Top of Calheta. Tip: Poncha is drunk without(!) ice, the taste is so much better.
