We recently visited the island of Madeira and had a very festive time at this Bar. What an experience. The food and the service is superb. The Bolo de caco with steak is the best in the town. Don't forget their speciality Poncha which they make right in front of you. For an unforgettable experience, don't miss this little gem.
We stopped in the place for a quick lunch, but unfortunately it turned out to be the worst meal I had in my stay in Madeira.
The chicken salad was bland and difficult to swallow, the persimmon bolo cold and among the worst I have eaten on the island.
I give three stars because the price is good (spent 26 euros for 2 cokes, a persimmon bowl, a chicken salad and a complete tuna dish) and the waiter is courteous.
I think you can find better in the area.

Traditional Madeiran place. 5 star ambience and taste of food. Simple, practical and full of flavor with a great view.
Kid-friendliness: They were careful to divide the bitoque into two plates for the little ones. A very grateful gesture.
