Very tasty food, especially the black scabbard fish found only in Madeira and around Japan. The fish was perfectly prepared, juicy and very delicate. Nice service. The restaurant is integrated into the streets of the town, which is always nicely decorated. I recommend!

The waitress was a little bit pushy - we didn't even manage to take a good look at the menu and suddenly she appeared at our table with recommendations what should we order. She was passive - aggressive and made us order starters drinks etc. It confused us a little - we should have stayed calm and tell her to give us another minute but under pressure we ended up ordering fish of the day (wasn't in the menu so we didn't know the price, didn't ask - our fault again). The fish came, but wasn't too tasty. Ended up paying over 100 euros for a meal we didn't really enjoy. Seems like a tourist trap. Oh and for the price we had to share one bowl of salad and fries - the waitress proudly stated beforehand that salad and fries is 'inclusive' but didn't tell us that if you want 2 portions for two people you have to pay extra. I think I haven't felt robbed like that in quite some time.

To be honest, it is with concern that I write this review as I want this restaurant ALL TO MYSELF! First and foremost, the food is delicious, the best I have tasted on the island so far. I was served pork medallions with pepper sauce which was perfect. Secondly, the value for money is superb as each main course includes a choice of extras, I had a nice salad and boiled potatoes. This is important, as most restaurants here seem to charge extra for these side dishes (4-6 euros each) which can double to price of your meal. Thirdly, they had a great wine list, and as I was on my own I could order a half bottle of wine. (Meia garrafa) Cannot wait to return.
