“Revelation! The place is inconspicuous from the outside. We ordered two bruschettas and a pizza. A rich appetizer, everything is delicious, fresh and aromatic. Decent serving time. A place with a homely atmosphere, a lot of guests during our visit - noisy, cheerful and joyful.“

“This is the spot! WHy?
For the locals: they know what they're getting, so they go.
But for us tourists from the U.S., you get more then what you pay for. Our first visit we just wanted some pizza! So a quick Google search and they weren't that far from where we were staying, so we went.
The service was beyond awesome. This is not your everyday pizza, although you can get it however you want, this is Madieras flare to pizza, which was delicious. The owner (I'm so sorry I forgot her name, and her husbands) made us Poncha,,,and I had already tried some on the island, but this was LEGIT Poncha. It's fresh...and I don't mean fresh out of the pitcher, I mean a FRESH HANDMADE GLASS every drink!
The best part of our visit was the hospitality. We were so happy with our experience we said we'd be back. They were closed the next day, but she invited us back for her husband to make a steak dinner for us in 2 days, which would be our last day on the island, and we accepted.
Two days later and we had the most enjoyable evening of our whole trip. The steak dinner and accompaniments were top notch, but the conversations and stories we were able to share about ourselves, their families, and the island really put an explanation point to our incredible family vacation.
I only wish we had met them and their establishment earlier in the trip. They gave us an overwhelming amount of information on little tips and tricks and hidden gems about the area that the hours of research we'd done on YouTube never covered....guess we'll just have to go back! Thank you again and again for two enjoyable evenings of dinner!
(P.S.- take a cab or Uber...I promise you, you are going to want more then 1....2....3....glasses of her Poncha! :)“

“Best steak ? I've ever had in my life ?
Me and my wife went there on a day trip to Funchal. The place was recommended to me by Dinarte from "Madeira Inside out" (by the way, it's the best company to book yourself on an amazing day 4x4 tour).
And man this place delivers, the staff are so friendly and attentive, it's so relaxing to eat there and the meat... that meat was something out of this world. It was a melt in your mouths steak on a red hot stone, so you can cook it yourself to your liking. It's a true interactive dinner for me, mind blown big time.
Let's put it this way: if I lived in Madeira, I'd have that steak for my dinner every day.

“We ate very delicious food here. To set the mood, try the ham/cheese selection from the starters. A truly heavenly taste experience! The main dishes are very delicious, it's atmospheric that you can half see how the food is prepared. It is no coincidence that there are many people here, there are hardly any free tables, but if you find one, don't miss it. The staff was also very nice.“

“Loved their tasty Carbonara and the Poncha. Despite the language barrier, the server went out of her way to ensure my meal was satisfactory. She was very timely in checking with me and knew just when to clear plates and ask if coffee was needed.I can't speak to the interior of the restaurant as I sat in their outdoor patio. The patio was well spaced allowing movement back out into the sidewalk. Many are crowded so that you can barely pull back your chair. Highly recommend.“

“Dinner at Lume Pizza has been unforgettable. The simple pizza Margherita is one of the best pizzas napoletana my friends and I have ever eaten (and we had lots in Naples last year). We loved it so much we went to Lume three times during our stay. Highly recommend if you like pizza napoletana :)“

The portions are enough to be 105% satisfied, but we made an effort as they had already told us about the tiramisu - in which the flavor of rum and cocoa was light, but the cream was creamier and fluffier - I really liked it. “On our mini-moon to Madeira we booked our final meal to be at Villa Cipriani and it was a beautiful spot to enjoy.
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and sunset in Madeira was beautifully romantic and picture-esque.

“Restaurant located in Santana at the top of the village. Food and correct price. The seveuse speaks a little French. The typical houses are approximately 2oo meters below the rote in front of the restaurant.

“We've been living in Madeira the past 10 years. Since moving here the competition have increased by leaps and bounds. Martucci is quite new among the "concept" restaurants in Madeira. Concept is where you pay a fix fee for all the courses and wine is included and normally quite good value for money. In our opinion Martucci rank in our top 3 "concept" restaurants with Ill Vivaldi and Mozart. The staff are friendly and attentive without being in the way. Food is excellent and done to perfection. I had one of my best steaks in Madeira here. We can highly recommend Martucci's for a new experience and if you have not tried the "concept" yet, this would be a good opportunity. Ps: the pizzeria area is separate and does not do the "concept" menu.

Ps: Update, we are now 15 years on the island. Still Martucci's is a firm favourite of ours and offers excellent value for money. We can highly recommend this restaurant.“

“My visit to Prova La Pasta was excellent! The variety of pasta options, sauces and ingredients left me enchanted.The pasta I chose was perfectly prepared and the sauce complemented it deliciously. We had Mexican and cider and beer.
But there was a lot of choice and a full cocktail menu.
They had the football on and it was a good atmosphere but then a very cheesy musician came on, we left after a few songs.“

“Everything is very delicious! We ordered a high seas pizza, barbecue chicken wings, and an espetada. The pizza was made with homemade dough, and the ingredients tasted very good. As for the wings and the espetada, the same, a lot of flavor and very delicious. Very affordable price.

Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, they lent us a charger for my phone which was life saver (for my wife who as a result spared my life…)

Food was very delicate in taste not too strong but perfectly balanced.
We had the famous Scabbard fish lightly fried with tropical sauce (and fried banana) was just salty enough but not too salty. Of course if you like salty you could add.

Octopus risotto was also fantastic. Loved that each dish had flower decor.

We ordered apple crumble by recommendation, tbh I didn’t have such high expectations, because how good can you make an apple crumble right? But it was very very good even for a Brit.

“We wanted somewhere close from our hotel (Cliff Bay) to have dinner. This was a Monday evening and we walked in without a reservation and got a table no problem. The restaurant did get very busy as the evening went on. We had a Bruschetta starter, two main courses (Tuna Salad & a Cannelloni) , Tiramisu, bottle of water and half bottle of wine, with a tip came to 65 euros. Without doubt the best value meal we had in Funchal and the food was pretty good. The service was good and friendly and the atmosphere in there was very nice. I'd recommend it and would definitely go again.“

“The best Pizza by such a long shot that the service and atmosphere don’t matter. Been here twice and will certainly return soon. The small pizza is ‘not small’ and they don’t hide ingredients either. Best value for your money, do not pass the opportunity to experience it.“

The only down side was the initial service, we were shown to our table and left for several minutes with no attention and eventually had to call a member of staff over for a drink!

Quality and price wise: we had 2 drinks (coffee and fresh orange juice) and 3 pieces to eat and paid only 9,30 euro. The bakery pieces were fresh and still warm.
