We walked 4 kms, through the tunnel and along raging waves, to find Câmara de Lobos. For years we have called it “the fishing village”. Now that we discovered Minerva, I guess we will now call the town Câmara de Lobos. To us, it puts this sleepy little village on the map. Drop in at lunchtime tired and weary after a mornings long walk around Funchal. Firstly order 2 pints, thirst quenching and delicious. We decided to share a starter of Beetroot, Cottage Cheese, Hazelnut, Honey & Mustard. This dish was devine, thoroughly sublime. We booked a 7pm Dinner reservation. Guys if you are around you can’t miss it! This is the place. Small menu but all fresh and with great taste. Honestly one of the best places I ate in my trips. Maybe the best. Also the service is great and is situated in a special corner with a fantastic view on the bay of Camara de Lobos. Dish I loved the most the tuna, the eggplants and the scabbard sandwich. Great also the drinks…. Price quality ratio at the top. Do not miss it
