“Love this place! Exquisite, creative cuisine made with love for the local produce. But that’s not even the best part - the staff here is! Very knowledgeable, witty and courteous, and we really enjoyed the wine pairings that they recommended. Great value for money and definitely one of the most well-deserved additions to the Michelin guide. We are already planning our next visit to Porto to eat here while further exploring the city!”

“We used viamichelin website for a restaurant in Porto and found Apego.It was a good decision to go here, we enjoyed it very much. We took the 5 course tasting menu with pairing wines. Each course we found very tasteful, with the pairing wine further elevating the flavors. To us the key world was balance. Each course fitted nicely with the predecessing course. The crew was very nice, taking time to explain every dish and wine in both Portugese and (perfect) English and making us feel at home. A place we certainly recommend as the people here understand what tasting and pairing means!”

“Coffee is great, but the main guy running the cash register was the nicest man. When trying to learn and speak Portugese, I run into many words I still don't know. This happened when ordering coffee. Instead of dismissing my confusion and just speaking to me in english, he clarified and helped me learn a few more words and phrases while speaking to me in portugese. That's service, and that shows care. Made me feel comfortable.”

I had noodles with beef, it was very delicious, my boy ordered the same but with chicken, the chicken was obvious because it was there, but the flavor was not that bad.

“Wow, we had a great breakfast there today. The restaurant is located on a not-so-busy street and that's what's really nice. The interior is harmonious, there was a little jazz playing in the background and the atmosphere was great for our breakfast. The service was very nice and the breakfast was rich and very tasty.

“This family run business may look like a chain, but don't let their great marketing fool you! I was craving a good American style burger which can be hard to find outside the US. Thier menu had exactly what I was looking for! My burger was big and juicy and had great vegetables on it, exactly as I wished. They make the patties by hand. The crinkle cut fries are also an American favorite. Behind the counter and in the kitchen is a mom and son and others. It's so good and so well done I know they'll reach thier goal of opening other stores.”

“I'm always looking for a wholesome vegan meal and this restaurant was perfect! They have a menu for the day - I got a carrot soup and a bean stew at 14 euros which is quite a good price. The food was delicious and was exactly what I needed today 🥹”

“To come to this place i had probably the longest walk I ever did in Porto. So I was building a lot of expectations along the 2 hour walk.
I have to say that the overall price quality ratio is not bad. However I did not understand the hype of the tomato soup. Its just tomato concentrate with sugar and salt. Probably no fresh tomatoes were used in preparing the soup.
The pizzas however were up to expectations, it's a proper wooden fired oven and the ingredients are fresh. The tomato sauce and the cheese are authentic and only one person in my group found the pizza too fatty, with excess truffle oil.
The limoncello is nothing special and didn't try deserts.
It's a good pizza, but not worth the detour if you are visiting for few days. There are better options in nearer areas, like Foz and Matosinhos.”
