Institution that sells very old products and not just for a social cause.
The store is very poorly organized, the items outside are completely deteriorated due to being outside without any care, the prices are not posted and are made depending on the customer who asks, which is unfair. I also didn't understand how the lady who was there receives the money and literally puts it in her pocket and even leaves straight away, as I realized from the conversation. After all, what is the purpose of the association’s money?? The store has cute things, furniture that is worth it but not everyone who is there should be there. There is a lack of organization, care in items, transparency in prices and stricter control over who they hire.
Bad experience, I don't recommend it.
We would like to leave a comment about the experience we had with this organization, which calls itself “social”.We believe that what you do in life demonstrates the type of person you are and, in this case, the type of Institution. We found out about EMAUS through a volunteering platform, where people offer to collaborate and work in exchange for accommodation and other facilities. Organizations post what they need through Worldpackers, and volunteers respond to those needs, with both parties making a mutual commitment. In our case, having confirmed our presence 2 months in advance, with all the organization, tickets, and others that this entails, they force us to carry out tasks outside of what was agreed, and when we question this situation and make it worth our time, They cancel our participation a few hours before the trip, thus having to change all our plans and losing a lot of money. It is a shame that there are people and organizations that boast about helping others, and end up being less than serious, not very supportive, not very committed and totally irresponsible with the agreements made between the parties. Although we have agreed to comply with the new requirements requested of us.In short, they literally left us on the street. Therefore, they remain a for-profit organization, where they only want people to work for free to satisfy their needs, regardless of what may happen to others.I do not recommend them at all, this institution is truly a disgrace
Really enjoyed our shopping here! There is so much stuff and the prices are really good and the staff was super friendly and helpful. After reading all the bad reviews I almost didn’t end up going but then we decided to check it out and it’s honestly a great place if you’re looking for home things at a good price!
Price at the customer's head
Unfortunately these so-called institutions are all the same. They do business with offered pieces and try to sell at a high price, fortunately people are not stupid. Going to the sales pages online, you will find better and much cheaper. I don't recommend it, very dubious interests in there. These stores have people in charge who don't understand anything about the subject, which is why they all continue to have stores full of people, Remar, Umaús are all the same.
I bought 2 different very beautiful antique chairs. They took a sanding, wax, new upholstery and the same as the other two I already had.
I received very poor service, I picked up some books and they didn't want to sell them to me.
Wide varieties of products
Restaurantji Recommends
I visited, I liked the space and some of the items... when it came time to pay, I compared myself with the price given to the customer's face... I say this because I witnessed other people buying items similar to what I wanted to bring! And the terrible service.
Interesting experience, so many old things, furniture, crockery, good business. Attentive staff. I recommend
Poor Abbé Pierre, his name used by corrupt people...
Very bad experience. Can’t tell if they are really part of the l’Abbé Pierre NONPROFIT foundation. There are no prices displayed and it fixed upon the buyer’s face. Prices told are at least 3 to 4 times the price you would usually find in Emmaüs. Would not recommend at all. The foundation should take a closer look at where the money goes……………..!
Horrible place. SUPER RUDE. And apart from that, the prices are at the convenience of whoever buys them. I do not recommend it, it is supposed to be an institution to help and apparently that money does not go anywhere that could be useful.
