We walked by Vila Ventura several times looking down the terrace and it looked nice. Unfortunately, there was only room for us inside where there were no other people. So a bit less atmosphere for us but great anyway. Staff is friendly and service is quick. The food is great and looks very nice. It's a bit expensive compared to other restaurants in the area - probably because it's part of a hotel.

My Boyfriend and me spent the evening at this restaurant and enyojed it a lot. The service was good and friendly. They answered our questions about some wines very constructive. We liked the cozy atmosphere. The food was very fresh and tasty. There are some regional food and drinks in the meal, wich we liked a lot. In this restaurant you can taste one of the best passion fruit ice cream ever! The price-performance ratio was perfect. All in all it was the best food we ate in our holiday! We have been here twice and absolutely love the place. Honest food, great ingredients well prepared. Had grilled fish the first time (amazing) with very nice grilled vegetables. Second time we took meat skewers- chicken and beef. Especially the chicken skewer was awesome.
I ordered an ice cream and received it, in the first phase, together with the food. I asked a waiter to put it in the fridge and bring it after I finished eating, but I received it melted. And the attitude of the guests was 0.
Very tasty food at great prices! Large selection of fish and meat. Is freshly prepared. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Went there three times in 14 days because we liked it so much. Price/performance absolutely top.

The Vila Ventura is a simple 3-star hotel on the south side of Madeira, located in a cul-de-sac with numerous hotels and a few restaurants, a few small markets and a hard-to-reach stone beach, if you want to call these entrances to the sea a beach. From our point of view, the price-performance ratio is ok, although we found it lacking in quality as a host. On the day of arrival we had almost a full day of travel behind us, our plane landed slightly late at around 6:20 p.m. and we were already slightly stressed about picking up our rental car by 7:00 p.m. When we arrived at the hotel around 8 p.m. the parking situation was terrible, even a short stop to unload our luggage caused traffic problems. While my wife and daughter checked us into the hotel, I looked for somewhere to park. All of the hotel parking spaces and all of the existing paid parking spaces were full. I ended up having to park in a paid parking lot about a kilometer away in front of a small supermarket. Back at the hotel there was a friendly welcome at the reception and the information that the hotel restaurant was only open until 9:30 p.m. So quickly get to the room, freshen up quickly and off to the restaurant. An employee there turned us away in an extremely unfriendly manner, saying that the “restaurant is busy” and that nothing would be possible there today. The announcement itself was of course unpleasant for us, but the manner was so disgusting that we decided at that moment that we probably wouldn't eat anything there on any of the days. We then found a steakhouse directly opposite where we felt in good hands for several days. However, one evening it was raining so heavily that we ended up eating in the hotel restaurant, it was ok and the top employee didn't seem to be there. So we spent a lovely week on Madeira. We would like to emphasize two things: the hotel is clean, the sanitary facilities are appropriate for the time and quality of the hotel. However, it is inexplicable to us why a height-adjustable shower rail has not long since replaced the far too low fixed point of the shower holder. What really bothered us, in addition to the experience in the restaurant, was the omnipresent noise level and even the noise. It regularly starts around 5:00 a.m. when an enthusiastic motorcyclist seems to be delivering something in the area and he's having a blast. Even though the hotel is in a cul-de-sac, there is an incredible amount of traffic. There are almost always vehicles on this street, which is probably due not only to the many hotel guests but also to the customer traffic at the fitness studio on the street. Our balcony faced the street, and the busy parking and delivery traffic was very unpleasant when we were in the hotel. What really annoyed us in terms of noise pollution was the construction noise in our own hotel or from the construction site in the neighboring building. The sounds of shovels, mixing machines, flex machines and hammer drills, a colorful dance alternated and often even drowned out the traffic noise. We would have liked at least some information about this. This location is complemented by the soundproofing of the hotel. Room doors close loudly, almost all night long, as do the floor doors. The crowning glory, of course, are those hotel guests who share philosophical reflections in the hotel's courtyard or on the floor corridors at night and don't even bother to use a whisper. One day there was a really nasty fire alarm every fifteen minutes, of course without any explanation or expression of regret. In summary, we had a good week in Madeira, breakfast in the hotel garden was a nice start to the day, overall the price is fair! However, we would not come back or recommend the hotel. We will add a few euros for the next attempt in Madeira and pay attention to a few more amenities.

Great price-performance ratio. Local beer 0.5 liters costs e.g. E.g. €3.50 (!). Very nice staff (speaks German and English), great atmosphere in the garden. Delicious food. We can recommend the grilled meat for 2 people, the risotto with tuna and the pasta with chicken and mushrooms! The garlic bread, which is available everywhere, was also very good. It is also in close proximity to the Hotel Sentido Galosol if you are vacationing there ;-). Absolutely recommended, reservation makes sense if you want to eat with more than 2 people or are late.
