Ferrugem Bistro Garajau is one of our favorite spots in Madeira. We're fortunate to live nearby, so we visit quite often. They serve our favorite Bohemia beer, which is absolutely delicious—we highly recommend it! We've tried many dishes, but our favorites include the salmon, tataki, meat plate, secretos de porco, and their crispy batata frita.
The team at the restaurant is always welcoming and friendly, making each visit a great experience. We appreciate the high quality of food and the warm atmosphere. Thank you for consistently providing such a delightful experience!

The restaurant menu looks interesting, and the staff is very friendly. However, we waited a long time for someone to come and take our order, and we saw some people come, wait, and leave. Then we found out that they had run out of buns for the burgers, and they wouldn’t make them without the buns (but they offered to bring all the ingredients separately without the buns). This was still only around 8 PM. They said their buns were special and they couldn't just buy some from the bakery next door. When they finally brought the burger with the last bun they had, I saw it was just a regular cheap bun, not special or homemade at all. We ordered bolos de frango, and they turned out to be very dry. Later we found out this was a kids’ dish (this was not indicated anywhere). The poncha was terrible! The prices for all this were heavily overpriced. Eating prego at a nearby bar is much tastier and cheaper. We did not expect this from a restaurant with such a high rating. The French fries were tasty.

great restaurant!! amazing food (especially the meals with seafood) WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE OCTOPUS. service was patient, nice and helpful. cool place for dinner. prices are on average same as other restaurants in madeira, the food was definitely worth the money we paid.

A very good restaurant with a wonderful terrace and very friendly staff. The owner of the restaurant is an excellent host, very flexible with working hours and extremely kind and friendly regardless of the fact that we just met. The food is very tasty, fresh and prepared with love. A serious recommendation to visit and enjoy if you are in this part of the Atlantic.

Unfortunately, I can only partially agree with the many reviews. Our food was okay, but nothing more. Carelessly done. The rice was soaked in butter. The meat was not medium rare but... price was average. The staff, on the other hand, was very friendly and relaxed.
We sit outside (they had tables set up) and they politely ask us to move to one inside. They took a long time to serve us. Good quality food, we had hamburgers and they were very delicious. Finally, they treated us to a shot of Madeira wine which was delicious.

Only 15m seated... employees pass by customers, it seems invisible... and they don't even look... little attention to customers other than the usual ones... it was the first and last time... very bad impression... lack of respect for the unfamiliar customer... it wouldn't hurt to look at the customer and say that they would attend as soon as possible… I had reports that the food was good but it was a huge disappointment… I got up and went to the neighboring restaurant…

Extremely delicious food at fair prices. The midday specials for 10 euros are particularly recommended. Staff friendly speaks good English. Ambiance is okay, seating could be more comfortable. Unfortunately there is no baby chair available.

We went for beer and snacks, we chose a cheese and sausage snack and a local beer (2 units). We paid 17 euros. Pleasant service, cozy atmosphere, delicious. Recommended place to spend the evening :))
