After a hike we stopped for dinner. From the selection of fish of the day we chose the sea bream. The starter was limpets.

The food IS good here, but... My shrimp risotto was so cheesy that I couldn't taste the shrimp. Combined with the cheese bowl it was just too rich and heavy. It was too much cheese. Then there's the rap music, it's very loud and annoying. Something soothing and calm would allow conversation better, or even no music at all. That would be best.

Excellent restaurant! The meat with chips and sauce was delicious and with the medium portion it can easily be eaten by two.
The restaurant is inside and is also perfect for a nice dinner.

The two of us spent 34 euros in total for dinner and we left with more than full bellies. To try!!!

This is the best restaurant on the island! Absolutely amazing: the food, the service, the price - we came in one day and kept having our dinners there every day we were on Madeira. Highly recommended!

Food & drinks: Good quality food. Fresh fish and tasty meat. The chocolate mousse dessert was also very tasty.

ADJUSTMENT ACCORDING TO DRM 5. VISIT BELOW.We were in the restaurant. Haven't stayed there. A bit confusing that the location and room are asked here. As a starter we had a Bolo do Caco. That was good. But our main courses were really great. Grilled salmon with risotto and seafood risotto. Delicious! Unfortunately the house beer was out. Hence the coral. Reasonably priced. Didn't pay 50 euros for the above-mentioned dishes plus 3 beers (0.5l). Service was great. At the beginning the fish of the day was shown. This can be ordered grilled or fried. We will try that on our next visit.

NEW: Unfortunately I now have to deduct a star. We ate here 5 times. The meals were all excellent. But...once our reservation was forgotten and all the tables outside were occupied. Can happen. Apologies also apply. The following evening, two different whole fish were presented as the fish of the day. I chose one of them. Due to the lack of fish fillet, my husband opted for another dish. A while after we had already ordered, another colleague came to the next table and offered a fish fillet in addition to the whole fish and pointed out that the whole fish would be 2 portions (double the price). By then we had already finished eating. In fact, it was the most expensive meal of the entire vacation because we were charged twice for the fish. My point that we were not informed of this beforehand was based on the fact that the young colleague was a beginner. It would have been nice if they had been more accommodating on both evenings and offered an espresso, poncho or something similar as an apology. It's a shame. Leaves a bitter taste...

Restaurant Review:
The food was phenomenal.

We had the Acorda Soup, and mussels as a starter.

The Acorda Soup was not only amazing, but came in an enormous portion size. Enough for 2 people easily, and cost €4. I would pay double or maybe triple that for soup this tasty.

The Mussels were absolutely delicious, and the sauce they came in was to die for. We mopped all of it up with the Bolo De Caco we ordered (also delicious).

As mains we got Prawn Risotto and Scabbardfish with Banana. Both were excellent, however the Scabbardfish with Banana is very sweet so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a savoury dish.

Overall this was the best restaurant we went to on the Island, I'm only giving it 4 stars because it took an hour to get our mains after the starters.

We ate there last night and had the meat skewers (Espetada from the Filet & Espetada from the Sirloin). The meat was excellent and the side dishes (fries + vegetables / which you have to order separately) were also very good. We also had garlic bread, which for me could have used more garlic as it tasted more like butter than garlic, but that can be a matter of taste.

We were there on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was therefore very busy, including local guests, which certainly speaks for the quality. This meant that everything took a little longer, but the waiter pointed this out to us straight away and so everything worked out.
We would go there again and can only recommend it.
