The best Poncha on the island, prepared according to a traditional recipe, with fresh fruit on your table. Wonderful atmosphere, view of the ocean. In his free time, the owner picks up a guitar and plays and sings (very well). Thank you very much!

We went there twice on our vacation, the food is really great. For the starter we highly recommend the grilled mango with mushrooms (Bolo de Caco anyway), as the main course all the fish dishes are great, the vegetables are cooked to perfection and for dessert the almond cassata and the banana honey cake. We also loved that they had all the Coral beers, the island's brand. The poncha is freshly prepared at the table and is a poem.
The waiter is truly unique and makes a visit to the restaurant very special. Really great!

This was such a gem we found in Madeira! We got there as they were closing and the owner stayed open- then 3 more tables filled up!
He played guitar for us and happily served us. The food was excellent! We got the bola de caco, must try! We also ordered the fish if the day and the black stone steak- both were so delicious.
We loved the service and the food- highly recommended for an authentic meal.

The best poncha in the place (and we tried SOME)... freshly squeezed juice... prepared at the table. Nice host who can sing really well. The neighbor plays the violin. The two take turns musically.

Way more pricier than his two neighbours. Quality is the same or less. What annoyed me was not the owners guitar playing, but his terrible singing voice. We left as quickly as possible. Next time it's the snack bar right next door again.After owners reaction:Owner shows his true colors. He is so into himself. He probably never checked the competition next door.Why would the neighbor restaurants have a way better rating on all platforms, I ask you ?

After a week in Canico and my second stay in Madeira (previously in Santa Cruz), I can say that it is one of the best, if not the best, restaurants. Rather small, rather inconspicuous, slightly out of the way of the town.Espada, whether with banana or pepper sauce - brilliant. Delicious banana cake with ice cream. The communicative waiter talks about the dishes and prepares ponchos in front of the guests. And when he has a break, he picks up the guitar and plays and sings (quite well, to boot). February 2023
