We enjoyed our meal, the meat skewer and, on the host's recommendation, a very special mixed salad (with strawberries, peaches and grapes) with sweet potatoes. You can sit beautifully at a panoramic window with a view of the sea and valley. The bedside table, a passion fruit pudding, shouldn't go unmentioned!
The extremely friendly host said goodbye to us with a handshake.

After an adventurous hike our path led us here.
The plan was actually just to drink a beer and continue hiking.
But the beautiful view and the friendly service meant that we stayed a little longer and ate an excellent chicken skewer with salad and drank the best poncha so far on the island. If we didn't leave tomorrow, we would come here at least one more time.

It's a pity that the price-quality ratio is not good I have never seen anywhere on the island where the staff reacted so negatively to the information that we wanted to share a portion of espetada (and we have been living here for 4 years). We were treated like tourists with no idea what the situation in restaurants is like here

The rustic restaurant “Moinho” is located far above Assomada. Super-friendly service, fantastic views of the Atlantic and fantastic cuisine. We are so excited that we have already been there 4 times and will definitely visit this restaurant 2-3 more times by the end of our vacation.

Beautiful surroundings with excellent food. As they say, the Czech Republic likes to go the extra mile for quality, and I recommend it here. From the outside it looks like Putika in a corner with a smaller parking lot, but the opposite is true. Beautiful and large space inside. Pleasant service and great food. Definitely go here if you don't know where :)

We stopped in for an early dinner and the staff were very welcoming. The food was amazing and the waiter was extremely nice, and taught us about the island of madeira. Would recommend to anyone in the area who wants to enjoy a nice meal with a lovely view!

Unfriendly conditions, when the waiter heard that we wanted to share a portion, he only made the portion half the size of the local pictures. This is bullshit!
We have lived on the island for 5 years and know how big the portions are but some innkeepers think they have to be particularly hospitable to foreigners. This is very short-term thinking, especially in times of the Internet and rating portals.
