The sardines and the cod are good, the normal salad and the sardine pâté from potet type butter ration hotel breakfast, normal desserts, what I didn't like is paying in cash, they don't charge by card and they tell you at the time to pay, there are some mini signs inside the restaurant that say so, but if you don't take a look inside you won't find out. The waiters who served us don't even speak Portuguese. There are better places in CARVOEIRO.

IF YOU HAVE ANY DIETARY REQUIREMENTS, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU AVOID THIS PLACE. I attempted to eat here the first evening of our holiday with family. I have a severe intolerance to the onion and garlic family, which does make it tricky to eat out, but it is never normally a problem if ordering something simple like fish and potatoes. I made my intolerance totally clear to the waiter, discussing the menu and even double-checking each item of my order of squid potatoes and salad. My meal arrived with veg mixed through with onions, which I just gave to my husband. But then, when I took a bite of the squid, I realised that there was chopped onion throughout the squid too. When I told the waiter, his first response was that I was wrong. When I showed him all the onion pieces, he took it away and said he'd check, later returning to say that a marinade had been put on despite his note about no onion or garlic. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done as I'd eaten a piece, but I stayed to be with my family and eat something. My plate came back with salad with red onion on it. When it came back for a third time, I tried the squid and it was cold, rubbery and still tasted of onion. It had clearly just been rinsed and put back on the plate. By this point, my stomach had swelled to the size of a football and I had to leave to go and get some medication. I am now swollen, in pain and the first 3 days of my holiday will be affected. No responsibility was taken, and although they didn't charge for my dish, no other compensation was made. As an aside, my child's dish was a very strange take on carbonara. They also don't take card!! Makes
