Highly recommend this fabulous gem tucked off the main street of Carvoeiro. A tired family wandered in and took solace by the pool. The service was absolutely phenomenal – the best we have had since we’ve been here! They were especially attentive to our kiddos. We hope to return soon and wish them nothing but the best! Definitely recommend the fillet and Tagliata! Yeah, man it

My partner had the worst clams and pasta ever. The clams were over cooked past belief and some of the pasta had gone very hard where it had obviously been left for a long period under a heating lamp whilst they prepared other dishes.When we complained to the head waiter his response was "nothing wrong, its just well done clams".I had the most expensive tiger prawns, 2 for €48 euros. These two were also as the head waiter would probably also describe as "well done" but also over cooked and dry. I didn't bother complaining as compared to the clams and pasta, my dish was Michelin standard compared to the pasta and clams.This used to be a great restaurant so a real shame.

Wij hadden hier denk ik een avond waar het personeel zijn dag niet had. Nadat we al ruim een half uur een drankje hadden wilden we wel eens bestellen.Personeel liep vaak langs maar lukte totaal niet om de aandacht te krijgen terwijl het echt niet druk was. Toen er eindelijk een ober kwam en we wilden bestellen zei hij 'ik ben alleen van de drankjes' liep weer weg en ging weer achter de buitenbar staan.10 minuten later een 2e ober gevraagd of we konden bestellen. Die reageerde alleen met: ' nee moet bij mijn collega, zei is de manager. En liep vervolgens weer weg. Héél bijzonder.Na een klein uur eindelijk kunnen bestellen.Vervolgens hoorden we continue geschreeuw en geruzie uit de keuken/bar van het personeel onderling waar het hele restaurant van mee kon genieten.Eten was lekker. Locatie zéér mooi maar de bediening moet echt een teambuilding dagje inplannen.

Our best meal in the Algarve backed up by attentive and professional service.The restaurant is just off the main road and the seats are around a small swimming pool.We both had the Sea Bass which was superb.There was also live Portuguese music which added to the atmosphere.Reasonably priced and excellent value would definitely recommend.

Attended late August with wife and 2 kids 6 and 4. Nice setting in an old villa with swimming pool in garden. Service ok, little slow with drinks taking 15 minutes to arrive. Food excellent and served promptly, we had the sea bass and pork with muscles. Biggest issue was that there is a donkey in the garden next door which stinks out the end of the garden area. If reserving ask to be seated near the door!
The food took 2.5 hours to come, brought an extra drink we didn’t ask for and charged us for it, charged us for a more expensive steak than we ordered, only brought out 2 garlic breads after waiting an hour when we ordered 3. And then also added a €40 euro service charge before asking. Overall service was an absolute disgrace however the environment of the resteraunt was nice and relaxed .

Booked this for a special occasion. Beautiful location and the food was amazing. I recommend the spaghetti seafood dish and garlic bread. Great service too.

Had a wonderful time at the Gum Tree, amazing octopus and wine, very nice host, waiter that severed us didn't speak good English, but I don't speak good Portuguese, so I will forgive that. Well worth a visit.
