Went yesterday night and a bit disappointed. The food was not great - way too much salt, the fish (scallops notably) was not cooked properly, and the bread was cold. One waiter was also a bit rude
Avilez quality that we have become accustomed to. It maintains well-known dishes that are its signature (fabulous fish from the garden, wonderful risotto), the place is pleasant and much less confusing than other spaces. The staff is impeccably friendly.
The chef’s trick is to take traditional Portuguese recipes and add a modern twist to them, resulting in delicious, interesting, and innovative fusions of tastes, while maintaining the warm feeling of comfort home style food. This is the second restaurant by chef Avillez we visited, and he did not disappoint. Don’t miss the roasted Nisa cheese as it is listed towards the end of the menu. The place is Michelin mentioned, but is not pretentious at all.
