Check your bill! Never brought out one of my drinks but they still charged me for it. They removed it. Then I asked to pay in euros which they did select but when you’re supposed to reject the conversion in the next step they accepted it for me. This costed me another 5% markup that DCC takes. They did eventually try to make it right by reimbursing me in cash but not before I spent time explaining it to them and another guy, maybe the owner, tried to tell me I was doing it wrong, which I did not appreciate. I know how it works, I just wasn’t given a chance to decide for myself.
The gambas from Algarve were small so don’t order that if you want something larger. Gazpacho was great as was the raw oyster.

We came for dinner twice in this restaurant as we were very well served and their grilled fishes were great. The restaurant is a bit away from all those tourist trap restaurants which is great! It is located nearby Praia da Ribeira, after the Police station. Very peaceful area, we highly recommand a visit! Thank you to the staff and cooks!

The calamari (frozen) were fried and not grilled!!! They put more on the table than we asked for, but had to pay for everything. Moreover, the wine (1 glass) was not drinkable. Looked like they had a leftover fern bottle somewhere.

‼️Tourist trap‼️ The food was bad and especially not appropriate for the price, a lot of it came from a can. The service was nice but very unprofessional, but the highlight was that they didn't scare away the birds that were fighting over the finished food, but simply ignored them. The toilet was small and disgusting and the aquarium for the sea creatures wasn't cleaned, so you could hardly see them.

If you are hungry, the process of waiting for the food to be served will be a long torment, lets say over 1 hour! Even for a kids meal and never got the chocolate mousse for my son! Most importantly, It is significantly higher than the price of an ordinary restaurant. Even they gave the dishes wrong and thankful my friend saw her dish had parsley before eat! And swap with her friend for the correct one. Big mistake of the staff. Just avoid, it is a tourist trap!

On the night of Portugal v France for the quarterfinal match of Euro 2024, there was ample space on their patio to watch the game for our large party who were accommodated at three different tables.
My friend’s table received their food first and the sea bass was phenomenal.
Our table received food about an hour after them but one order of grilled sea bass was raw so the waiter took it back to prepare it again.
The third table didn't receive their food at all because there was a fire in the kitchen and the cook burnt all of their food because he was distracted by the game. As they had been waiting 1-2 h for their food, they asked for bread but the kitchen had run out.
In the mean time the host (who is S Asian) comes to our table to apologize and explained that three of the staff called in sick and that the cook was distracted by the soccer game and was having a hard time getting the meals out. He commiserated that the some people are lazy and don’t like to work.
We waited an hour for his properly cooked sea bass to arrive, he could not wait any longer so he ran to the McDonald’s for a burger. Alas Portugal lost in the shoot out. Our Portuguese waiter burst into tears and ran out of the restaurant into the alley. He came back sobbing and the guests consoled him with hugs.
So what can I say? Avoid this restaurant if Portugal is in the quarterfinal match for the Euro cup. And the sea bass is damn good.
