Today was Easter Sunday and we went to Viriato for lunch in the middle of our tour of Cascais.We were very well attended to, attentive and friendly, a lot of fun with my daughters.It's a traditional grill restaurant in Carvão and I remember Viriato from many years ago and it was great.Our dishes were very well prepared and very well made, fish and meat grilled over charcoal and it was delicious.We were very satisfied and even received Easter almonds with our coffee.Congratulations to the team, we loved lunch and the good mood.

I ate the shrimp bread soup (açorda de camarão), a delicious typical Portuguese dish that is difficult to find nowadays because it doesn't really appeal to tourists.Tourists are welcome in any country, but please don’t judge our food on social media. Maybe Portuguese cooking is not for your taste because you weren’t raised eating it, but it doesn’t give you the right of talking badly about it. Can you imagine someone judging the food that your mother or grandmother make? I believe the food in every country should be respected and not just erased from history to please someone who’s ignorant.

After visiting restaurants all over Europe and the USA I have never posted such a negative review. Yes the food is acceptable although not great in comparison to a lot of the other places we’d eaten in Cascais. Personally when I’m in a restaurant I want to be treated as a Customer. Nothing more and nothing less. The Management and Staff at O Viriato need to take a good long look at themselves. It was obvious that every Customer was being treated with contempt and not once did we here a thank you or any other pleasantry. God forbid you would see them smile. Even paying out Bill seemed a chore for them we never received a thank you. As a family business sort yourselves out. Your food could be better but a smile and common courtesy would go a long way

Had a lovely meal tonight here. No complaints at all. Fair price for Cascais for 3 adults, €71. Olives, bread, main meal and 1 coffee. Will be back for sure. No problems with service, staff were great.

Lunched here today. Brilliant. The service was good, staff happy and professional. Great ambience, sat outdoors which is a plus. Great food. Had the biggest tuna steak a ' lagareiro', big enough for 2. Delicious. My husband ate 'lombinhos de peixe', like fillet fish, in banana and passion fruit sauce , unusual but amazing. .highly recommended and can't wait to eat there again.

Tipical location in Cascais a bit away from the center (just a few minutes). The food was good (great fish!!), the staff is kind but we’d suggest to learn just a few words in English in order to better manage the relationship with clients.

Found this place to be very unfriendly and unwelcoming, like we were an inconvenience. The dishes we had were unbearably over seasoned masking any flavour the food may have had. All round a very disappointing experience
