We were looking for a restaurant in Castro Daire after participating in the last Transhumance Route. Locals advised us to go to this restaurant. Without a reservation we tried our luck and were received in a friendly manner but with no guarantee that they would be able to have a table in half an hour. The truth is that it smelled so good and the menu presented was so inviting that we were very curious to try this restaurant. After half an hour we came back and actually got a table. The space is relaxed, unpretentious and has a welcoming atmosphere. Those on the ground floor can see the chef and team working hard behind the counter. The letter is very well crafted. It values local products (PDO meats) and classic delicacies of Portuguese cuisine and also makes room for other flavors. Just thinking about the quality of that letter and writing this review makes my mouth water again. We opted for the Peixinhos da Horta which were served with a sweet foam to contrast. The Peixinhos da Horta were ready to eat and cry for more. A delight. We continued with a Pork Piano with Barbecue Sauce accompanied by potatoes and vegetables and also a Loaf of Veal accompanied by Potato Gratin and vegetables. The meal was wonderful. The meats are tender and tasty, the gratin is creamy and refined in terms of seasoning. We finish with a chocolate mousse that is a creation of different chocolate textures and salted caramel. The service was impeccable. Friendly and always attentive. In addition to having a memorable meal on this day that will remain in our memories, I only have one other certainty: I will have to book a table at Taska Chik when I return to Castro Daire one day! Congratulations to the Chef and his entire team. They provided us with an excellent meal.

The restaurantTaska Chik is what I call an excellent gastronomic find.I was visiting the village of Castro Daire, and around lunch time I looked for options in the municipality.Like always. I use Google Maps to check the reviews of the houses in the surrounding area.Taska was very well evaluated in all criteria.Therefore, I went to visit it with a high level of expectations.And I wasn't frustrated, the restaurant definitely deserves all the praise given.The food was tasty, the preparation and presentation were 10. The service was courteous and with a lot of empathy for those involved and those responsible for the house.As for the prices, I thought it was adequate.Within similar proposals for restaurants in the Víseu DistrictThe environment is very peaceful, packed with sound at the right volume and cozy.The house is small with limited spaces, however this is an added value as it offers the client a touch of exclusivity.Very well located, as it is close to the small Historic Center of the village.I highly recommend Taska Chick,Note . Parking: Visiting Castro Daire on Sunday is different from going on weekdays.You may have difficulty parking near the restaurant, but nothing absurd.Just be patient and you'll soon find a place.
