We had the 4 courses tasting menu. One choosing the fish option, the other with the meat option. All the courses were very tasty, correctly introduced by the waiters and very well paired with delicious wines from the farm. A very special experience for a fair price. It was great also being able to get a table even when we showed up without a booking. A particularly unique trait in the Porto area.
We were greeted with a delicious white port cocktail. A menu indicated the meal and wine pairings. All was delicious. Oxtail was new to me and I would definitely order it in the future. We had a white, a red and a part dor dessert. Port was my favorite
Parking: At the top if a twisty road, but plenty of parking.
Wheelchair accessibility: Enter through the door near parking We walked around over grass to enjoy the view
A little rough around the edges but a beautiful view and a petty knowledgeable staff but the stars are the food and wine pairings. Easily would cost 2–3x in a major city. They don’t skimp on the food or wine you leave feeling fulfilled.
This restaurant was faultless—from the service, to the food, and most importantly, wine selection. We had the 5 course meal with the wine pairing, and George helped explain the history and notes of the wines expertly. This goes without saying the entire staff was great, but George and the visit from accomplished chef, Milton Ferreira, really made the experience. I will certainly visit the Quinta do Portal restaurant the next time I’m in the Douro Valley.
Lunch overlooking a vineyard and long view of local church and villages “spread “ over hills on the opposite valley.Food amazing.. best octopus I’ve ever had, risotto and sea bass unforgettable supported by amuse bouche, port and desert. Discrete but excellent service. Do go and enjoy.
Absolutely fantastic meal! The view is spectacular, the service was great and the food was so so good. The chef here is doing some absolutely wonderful things and the wine was delicious. I highly recommend having dinner here. You won’t regret it!
Excellent place to stay, very comfortable, good food and service
Bill over 100€ for 2, for a good but not amazing cuisine. White wine served too cold, piece of fish very good but on the small side, starter and dessert were the best dishes.
This is an amazing restauraunt with delicious food by a talented chef. We really enjoyed the lunch and dinner courses with wine pairings. The wines at this quinta are really exceptional. We also had the best waiter, George, who was so kind, attentive and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed dining here and he made the experience all the more worthwhile.
The best overall dinner experience that we had on our trip to Portugal. We had the wine pairing menu, and at every turn they hit the mark. Such wonderful food and such a friendly staff. I cannot wait to return!

Phenomenal experience. You will not regret coming here for a moment. Some of the best sea bass I've ever had.
Chef Milton and Team do an excellent and exceptional job! Be prepared for mouthwatering combinations and to the detail composed menus. The vine pairing goes without question superbly along the courses. Looking forward to next visit. The restaurant is embedded in the vineyards of Quinta do Portal and during dining you are blessed with astonishing views over the landscape of Douro Valley. Do reserve as the restaurant fills fast with bigger groups. After you desert take a walk through the vineyards and visit the herbal Gardens of the cook.
We cellebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary at this superb estate. The meal was perfectly presented by very competent and friendly staff who made us feel very special. The sommelier was knowledgeable and introduced us to the excellent Portal wines. We particularly likes the Rose and white wines, with the floral Muscatel being especially good. Pairing of wines with the dishes was excellent. We can highly recommend this as a value for money experience. Muito obrigado todos.
The food and the service were good, most of them were very aware and fast. The waiting time between the courses was special, we were waiting almost an hour between the main course and the dessert. At the entrance the staff kept reminding us how expensive the menu is, which was a bit "special". Maybe it was because we are both under 30.The courses are advertised as 4/5 course menu, but they count the amuse-bouch as a course, which is wrong, and makes the menu a bit small of size. We could definitely eat more. The waiter told us we could only take the 4 course menu if we want meat without fish but he didn't mention the starter was codfish for everyone.Overall great location but got some points which were annoying.
Had a private event there. Beautiful. Wonderful food, very wine, great service.
