An unsatisfactory experience! A blinding white light, the main dishes, both duck and fish, tiny and with stale rice. Attentive but slow service that could not repair the kitchen's faults!

Even if you only order the main meal a la carte, it also comes with the chef's welcome meal, which includes three small meals and a small dessert after the meal. These are free. Bread before meals is also free. I think this restaurant is really good value for money.
The staff services are also of five-star standard.

The gastronomic experience at Arcadas restaurant was truly sublime. The veal with tupinambour puree and caramelized andives stood out for its perfection of flavors and textures. The service was exemplary, with qualified and friendly staff. The sommelier, very prepared, gave us good information about the wine list. The restaurant is located at the Hotel Quinta das Lágrimas, where we stayed, which added a touch of charm to this unforgettable experience.

If you like duck, come for the duck! The whole dinner was very good and tasty and well presented, but the smoked duck breast is outstanding. We had the “Lagrimas” menu but they were kind to accept exchanging the designed dessert with the chocolate one. Highly recommended!

The service is impeccable. The food is real good but not outstanding as you'd expect in a Michelin rated restaurant. That being said it is not that expensive for a Michelin. So overall still good value for the money but below what we expected.
Bang on. The ultimate experience. No pretention but excellent fresh food cooked properly. Friendly staff serving with a pleasure.Just go for it.

For $200+ Euros and a Michelin listing, we were expecting a great dining experience. The wait staff were attentive at first, but when we returned our main course which was overcooked and inedible, the service fell apart. We had ordered the Chef’s tasting menu, which had several courses including desert and coffee. Once we sent back our main courses, we waited for 20 minutes and eventually had to ask another waitress for the manager. At that point we asked for the bill so we could leave. Then they brought desert, which we didn’t want at that point. We asked for the manager again (who was also the Somelier). She apologized for the bad food and service and said she’d make a deduction on the bill. We never got the coffee, but the bill came with a 10% deduction which was an insult.

This is an excellent restaurant. The food and wine we had were all good. My minor criticism is that the first hour of our booking was taken up with chefs amuse bouches during which they keep filling the wine glass. But that said it’s the best meal we had during 5 days in Coimbra. Portion size is generous- this is not London nouveau cuisine sizes, and I commend that. Yes it’s top € prices but I felt that was fair.

First experience at Arcada Restaurant. It was a privilege to be served especially by Ilme, the perfect menu item. Loved everything! I will definitely return and recommend it to friends to discover this magnificent place of history and refinement.

This place undersells itself. The set menus have very simple names, which is a nice refreshing change for places who provide incredibly complex and stuffy names. Excellent staff. A sommelier would make sense. Expensive but very good service and quality.
I went with my friend. Since we entered we felt “persecuted” - we were asked several times what we wanted to do there, when we just wanted to try a restaurant that is apparently open to the public. The restaurant seeks to be so gourmet that food combinations make no sense to those with “common taste” and are quite expensive. When looking at the menu, we realized that none of the dishes would please us and that it would not be worth spending the amount charged on food that we would not like.We decided to order just one dessert and leave, but we were informed that they could not serve just dessert due to “house rules” - which is prohibited under the rights of a consumer, since it is a tie-in sale. We were told that we should have stayed at the bar if we just wanted dessert. In the end, they let us stay in the restaurant - not least because it was empty.I believe that any luxury restaurant should treat any customer well, regardless of the amount spent. I felt embarrassed from the moment I walked in until the moment I left the place, even though I had the money to order any of the dishes, which I just didn't like.I gave it two stars because some staff still tried to make our experience ok - but not all.
Absolutely privileged place, with impeccable service. To test at least once. It's good, refined and the setting is a haven of
