Extremely select and calm place, however there is little variety in the food and the service is sometimes slow

It's a shame that an event like this isn't planned for the lunch crowd...
Very bad service.... Taking into account that it puts people at the counter to serve and they can't receive. I saw people being served leaving without paying because they didn't have an employee to receive them...
Poor owner...

We come to Coimbra a lot, and have used Cafe Concerto two or three times. The location, with its terrace overlooking the city and Mondego river, next to the Santa Cruz monastery is noteworthy. Drinks and cocktails are good but the food is very disappointing. This is more a snack type location and they do light meals, and when you ask to order a lunch, it sometimes seems like a radical proposition for the young staff. They do several types of burger and toasted sandwiches which are fair, including a veggie burger. However, the non-meat alternatives like salads are disappointing. A lot of tired, pre-prepped food brought from the Tupperware. My wife’s hummus was lumpy and old and looked like it had been made in a factory 10 days ago. Probably, the problem is they do not do a lot of food (except when there are concerts on). I would say if they can’t make it fresh on the day, then don’t have it on the menu!

Quick meals with a chef's signature. Terrace overlooking the city. The price is a little high for what you eat.

Pleasant place with a very good atmosphere, which I often choose for lunch and work meetings. Unfortunately, today I came across a press conference in the middle of lunch, which in my opinion does not suit the space and which inhibited my entry and that of the clients who accompanied me.

The Café is inside the San Francisco Convent complex. It hosts many artistic events, being part of the cultural agenda of Coimbra. It is has a large internal and external area, with a beautiful unobstructed view. The Café offers a wide range of beverages, from teas and coffees, to beer, wines and spirits. the dishes are pastries and snacks. It's also a great space for reading or just chat with some friends. The staff is friendly.
