I wanted to take my sister to a Michelin Restaurant for her birthday dinner while we were here in Coimbra. We decided to go to Casa do Bragal and we are so delighted that we choose this setting for her dinner. We walked in and it felt that we were in some ones home there were books and paintings all over the restaurant. The tables were set beautifully. We were a little early for the 8:00 PM opening and we were invited in to sit by the owner. When we got to the table it was set with a few different before dinner treats. We had olives, a beet dish, sardines, a type of marinated beans, a mushroom tart & the cheese was adorned with a sweet pepper relish. Our main meals came out under a covered dome and it was enjoyable to have them remove the cover to display the meal. I had the scallops with watercress rice and my sister had the veal with potatoes and spinach. They were extremely tasty. We saved room for dessert since it was a buffet of 12 different choices including, rice pudding, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, flan and many others. The owner was so gracious and helped us make some of our choices, the waiter was so observant that he even turned the light on when I headed for the ladies room. It was such an enchanting evening and we would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
