This vegan ramen is absolutely wonderful (just ask for no egg with the veggie Raman) —rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The broth is well-balanced, and pairs perfectly with the fresh ingredients. Every element, from the noodles to the toppings, is thoughtfully prepared, making it a comforting and delicious dish. Highly recommended! Place gets busy I recommend making a reservation Updated from previous review on 2025-04-03

The best Japanese food I have eaten in Europe so far. The highlights were the miso aubergine and the pork sandwich. Very friendly staff as well, a true 5 out of 5.

Spectacular food with a great flavor. So much so that we have returned twice to try the rest of the dishes. The eggplants, edamames, obviously the ramen, fried chicken and salmon and cod roe onigiri. The staff is very attentive and fantastic. Also Japanese drinks. With tables on the street, inside there are few tables and the bar. But I recommend 100%. When I return to Coimbra I will go. Thank you

Cozy and small house with a calm atmosphere, typical of the space in which it is located - a small square surrounded by the dense fabric of downtown Coimbra, and therefore, it is worth it and recommended to eat on the terrace. Ideal for a serene end to the weekend.
Obviously, it is the dish that also makes the evening, and here, it was completely in tune with the moment.
In the photos, a Ramen dish made with soy sauce, and another with tahini.
Experience to repeat.

Japanese food
I found most of the items on the menu overpriced. The broth for the veggie ramen was tasty and pretty filling though.

Don't know if we came at a bad time, but we received terrible service. We sat there for around 45 minutes after ordering while making eye contact with our waiters, basically eating air from hunger. We asked if our food was coming out and got a no, but did not get a check in or clarification of when it would come out. Can't even rate the food because we didn't get to try any of it except for the miso, which came out lukewarm after 20 minutes of waiting. It's concerning how long the miso took. We did not order any appetizers. We watched tables around us that came in AFTER us get served before we did. We were disappointed since no one came to check in on us or reassured us that our food was coming. We honestly think that they didn't even input our order. After 45 minutes of waiting, we left. Clear your schedule for the whole day, or maybe even the whole week if you plan to eat here.

A great place to have a japanese meal! I really enjoyed the Shoyu Ramen (in the photo bellow). The staff was amazing, always attentive to see if anything is needed!
Unfortunately I would say this restaurant is a bit hidden and out of sight, and you should remmeber the space is rather small so if you wanna go make sure to go early! ?

The food and service were fantastic, the bad thing is that it is located in a very bad area. A shame in that sense. However it is worth going.

Nice take on a Japanese style ramen. I had the veggie ramen (with no egg). It was in a tahini and sesame broth and was tasty. We also had the vegetable tempura which was the couvert that day. The service was great, very attentive. We had a lovely seat outside under the blooming jacaranda tree ?. They also have a good selection of Japanese beers.
