We liked the atmosphere of seating in the shade with a view on a hot day. We got a nice table and enjoyed a break from walking. The food that we had, was ok. The bread wasn't good, I think it wasn't fresh... The grilled sausage was ok. The pasteis de bacalhau were surprisingly great ??! The beer was good and refreshing. The service wasn't good, it was slow and strange. The server brought only 1 utensil set for 3 adults ??♀️ and one napkin ??♀️ I didn't get that at all... We ordered 2 shared dishes, 3 beers, why only one set and no napkins?
Wheelchair accessibility: It will be difficult to get here by wheel chair and only if you want to sit outside. It will be impossible for you to go inside of the restaurant or use the bathroom. The space is very narrow, there are stairs

After touring Coimbra, we sat down at this place to rest and have a drink. We ordered some beers from a Portuguese brand (Superbok) and a cheese with bread. The cheese was very good and is suitable for people with lactose intolerance, we liked it so much that the waiter brought us a little cheese so we could see what it was.

We stumbled upon this little place with their cafe umbrellas and tables overlooking the little plaza across from an ice cream shop under the trees. It was a lovely evening enjoying delicious food and the kind hospitality of the owners. We had the country cheese plate to start with local bread…yum. Our favorite dinner dish was the calamari…so so good.
Pork cheeks were very tasty - the meat was melting in the mouth. But the steak in Francesinha was not tender which ruined the whole dish.

It's a recommended place. Service as well as food quality is excellent. It's a cozy place that has outdoor seating, too. We ordered Cheese and meat board, Calamari, Lamb stew, grilled sardines, and COD dishes. All came out well except for the soggy fries, but anyway, we are not fries fans.
We took daily menu, and got soup and cooked codfish with onion, potato, and olives. It was tasty. My friend got francesinha and it was awesome. Homemade french fries are also great.Service was fast and the food was awesome for the price.Ambient is really cozy and local, and I don't think that rating is realistic.Bear in mind that we were there out of tourist season on a rainy day.

When in Rome....well, Portugal. Got to get the roasted sardines. We found this place in Coimbra on the walk back from the university. On a pedestrian side street off the main square. It seemed ok. We got a pitcher of white sangria and glad we did. It helped with the rest. The Sardinha were as to be expected. Salty. But also a little dry. Maybe not fresh? GF got a tuna salad and it seemed a little dull as well. In the land of canned tuna, you would expect better. Anyway, a decent enough meal that I would have forgotten about, save for the receipt. Try the Sardihna somewhere else if you are so inclined. Not on the list for a return visit.
