Food was wonderful and portions very generous. Great choice on the menu of both food and wine and my swordfish was cooked to perfection. Friends had hanging kebabs which were also delicious. Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming and had a great sense of humour, he made the evening even better and it’s this type of service that keeps you coming back.

After a long wait for menus followed by a long wait for service (the waiter was pleasant but lacked tip of the tongue information about what fish was available and drinks). The food is ok, but there’s a ton of waste. Plates are loaded, and glancing around every other table was packed with plates unfinished. We try this place again every few years when there are no other options available, and every few years we remember why don’t come back for a few years. Addition: when I complained about waiting an age for the bill, and slow service, the guy at the counter mimicked me and mocked my Portuguese. Never coming here again.
Amazing food, my family and I have been going to Cabanas for a decade, it’s a favourite restaurants of ours, especially the Monkfish Cataplana, it says it could feed 2 but could easily feed 4. Huge portions! And the flavour is amazing. The only thing I would say about the restaurant is that there are only 2/3 waiting staff at a time per 80 customers, and they are extremely overworked. Because there are such few servers the service can be quite bad, if you are ordering a Catapalana, plan to wait for an hour, when the restaurant is full, good luck getting a glass of wine. There is not enough staff to service the restaurant completely. This is no complaint to the waiters and waitress themselves as they are worked to the bone!
