We stayed at Quinta de la Rosa, where the restaurant is located, and we ate dinner and breakfast. It was really delicious and very tasty. Beautifully decorated and served with good service. And the view! Absolutely fantastic. We chose VTG white wine Reserva, which was significantly better than the local wine.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received when trying to make a reservation over the phone. The person who served me was extremely unfriendly and showed no interest in making my reservation. Furthermore, I was informed by message that it is necessary to leave a credit card reservation of 50 euros, something that is not mentioned on the website, which is outdated in many ways. This type of treatment is unacceptable and disrespectful. Honestly, this experience made me lose the desire to go to the restaurant. I hope they take steps to improve customer service and update the information on the website. Good continuation

What’s the point of do a reservation if we there is no difference between who did a reservation and who just got there? I mean, it was a special date for us, we ask for a table in esplanada and we got nothing. Even when vacating tables, we were not allowed to change tables, they said there was reservation for those tables, which don’t make any sense!! It was a frustrating experience, since we choose very carefully Cozinha da Clara over others. I would not go there again and next time we definitely going to other place in Douro.

The food was good, although expensive for the country. We will say that the frame compensates, let's move on.
The service was OK for the first 45 minutes, 4 different servers took care of us, without too much waiting time. After the main course, the drama, we asked for the menu 3 times to have desserts, everyone passed by us looking away so it was impossible to get a waiter to come. Once the menu arrived, we ordered 2 leite crem, 1 with a Porto as proposed on the menu. Only one dessert came, so we had to wait for the second one which we asked for again. Finally, we ask for the bill. Rebelote, we wait 15 minutes without anyone coming and then pay at the counter.
If you want to charge prices of this standard, at least ensure that the service is up to par.

The restaurant did not live up to expectations. Firstly, the room had a lot of flies, making it very unpleasant to be eating dinner and having to constantly shake the flies off the food. The staff was friendly, but the service was chaotic. Since the cover was served almost at the same time as the starter, we ordered a starter to share and were not given sharing conditions, the drinks, which were ordered together with the dish, were only served halfway through the main course and after we had requested several times. The dishes, although well presented, lacked flavor, with the exception of the side dishes (barley) and the dessert, which was excellent. The view is excellent, but in my opinion, the price you pay requires better service and higher quality food.

Very poor reception on the phone. No possibility to reserve a table with a view of the Douro. No possibility of knowing the lunch menu. So the prices! Lunch times are incorrect on the website. And finally to reserve a table which will be distributed in order of arrival, you must still provide your bank details. TO FLEE !!!!!!!!

We were super well recommended for this restaurant and it was a disappointment. The pork dish arrived at the table cold, we had 4 people at the table who ordered the same dish and they all arrived in the same way. Apple dessert, taste like flour, far from being a Crumble.
Of the dishes we ordered, the pork came cold and the octopus was flavorless and the worst part was hard, a dish that ended up being average. Of the desserts, the apple crumble was really bad, soft and with a flour taste. Unfortunately, an experience that is not worth the high price they offer.

The worst service experience I've ever experienced.
1. We had a 9pm reservation and put a request in prior to sit outside with a view; we confirmed with the restaurant the day before.
2. We arrived early and they told us that the kitchen closes at 9pm.
3. Every other patron was sitting outside and they had two open tables outside but sat us inside (not a single person had been seated inside).
4. When we asked to sit outside with a view they said no and said those are 7pm reservations.
5. I said we'd wait because they are likely done if they were seated at 7pm. They said they aren't close to done and if they leave after 9pm they won't serve us.
6. I asked why they allow for 9pm reservations if the kitchen closes at 9pm and all they said we could sit inside.
We decided to leave.
