Mixed feelings honestly - we actually thought the food was pretty tasty (aside from the desserts, which weren't on the same level), and we liked being able to choose each course on the prix-fixe menu. But for this price you're hoping for more than 'pretty tasty', while the service unfortunately was mostly just competent, and fairly impersonal tbh. We had much better, friendlier dining experiences pretty much everywhere else in Portugal. But here's the thing... the location IS stunning. That's mostly what you're paying for.

I have been to many wineries around the world. The place is very nice - great views and good building infrastructure. However, the prices for a tasting are an absolute disgrace. >40 euros per person for a small sip of wine from four different bottles, each selling for around 15-20 euros. For a tasting for 4 people, we would have preferred to buy 8 bottles of wine. For 28 euros per person you can help yourself to a sad buffet of cheese and ham. Absurdly overpriced and an absolute disgrace. I definitely can't recommend it.
The tastings start at 28 euro for 3 small glasses. The only food available is a 28 euro option (tiny h’orders which are mediocre and meant for one person only) no bread or cheese plates. This was the most unfriendly and snobbiest staff I encounter in two weeks in Portugal and a life time of wine tastings.I would never recommend this place to anyone. With regards to the wines they were subpar, only the port was drinkable.Very unhappy experience and the drive is impossible!

You have to choose from a 3, 4 or 5 course menu. The cheapest is 58 eur. Given the location, service and price, we were very excited about the food, however, it took more than 35 minutes to receive the first dish. The kitchen was very slow. It took us 2 hrs to have a 3 course meal. And, sadly the food was subpar. The people taking care of our table were great. They deserve 5 starts.

Beautiful location and very friendly service. The view from the restaurant terrace is definitely worth a visit. The food was good but overpriced for what it is. There is also a shop where you can buy wines and do tasting with a stunning view to the other side of the valley.

(Translated by Google) Author food, true masterpiece, very nice place and looks like a fairy tale in fantasy land!! Perfect pairing with the wines and dessert, it said pudding and thousand leaves but they were a reinvention of these sweets making it a totally delicious surprise!!(Original)Comida de autor mesmo, verdadeira obra prima , local muito agradável e parece um conto de fadas nas terras da fantasia!! Perfeita harmonização com os vinhos e a sobremesa, estava escrito pudim e mil folhas mas foram uma reinvenção desses doces tornando-se uma surpresa totalmente deliciosa!!

As long as you are ok with the trek out to this destination- MAKE IT. The food is incredible and the wine selection is fantastic. The waiters walked us through each dish and wash wine, most everything being from the valley.

As pessoas são muito amáveis! A comida e os vinhos são ótimos! Contudo, os preços estão acima dos praticados em hotéis com a mesma proposta.

Nice atmosphere but food was mediocre at best, some was just plain bad. We also shared our dietary restrictions via email and they were confirmed when we entered, then were completely disregarded throughout the rest of the meal. Lastly, the value just isn't here, a €100+ meal that consisted of one app, two entrees, and a bottle of water should be better.

Although the food been wonderful, the service is horrible! If you don't mind been bad treated, ok. Otherwise don't go there.
An incredible terrace overlooking the Douro valley. We did the four course meal. The Lucio fish over the pea risotto was amazing, the veal was super tender, the cauliflower veloute was really good, the beet gazpacho was not bad and the chocolate dessert was incredible. Service was friendly yet professional. We booked a lunch because unless you stay at the hotel, the roads leading to Quinta Nova are small, windy and pitch dark. Would not do it at night with no lights on the roads! In any event, the view was too special not to see it during the day!
