Mercato Taberna Lounge in Elvas offers excellent food with a modern twist, serving typical dishes from the area. The golden cod and camel slime are must-try dishes. The friendly staff provides good service, with English-speaking waitresses. The local pork, pineapple, and muscatel wine are delicious, as well as the steak in pepper sauce. Enjoy superb local red wine and beers at this restaurant, which opens at 7.30pm on Sundays. A bit pricey but worth a visit.
