“Weekend stay in Serra da Estrela. We were told at the accommodation that in the area, if you didn't make a table reservation, it would be impossible to have dinner. My brother and I tried to book over the phone, without success, but we decided to take the risk anyway. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was really crowded. Still, they were extremely friendly. We promised not to stay too long, as we just needed to satisfy our hunger and a table was found for us. 5 star food and service and friendliness too, despite the situation. I recommend!“

“Surprise surprise, as you enter you can see the environment, well renovated, with many details that are important to me such as the bread basket, the container to serve the wine, the background music that invites you to relax and give it that touch .. .different. Surprise; my dish was typical of here Bitoque a la portuguesa and it consisted of a steak with a fried egg on top on some kind of soup with wine and potatoes on the side, not to ask, but it was delicious, a different flavor, to begrudge... cutting is difficult not seeing much of the steak. Bacalhau with vegetables on top, very good since it had boroa bread (my favourite) and the dessert that was the first I saw when I entered, a cheesecake mousse, really delicious and that I would have had a little colder, but spectacular, abundant and above all in a very very pleasant environment.“

“I visited this establishment on a brief visit to Avis, and I can say that I will certainly repeat it when I go there again!
Modest and simple place, but clean and the cuisine, at least what we ate, was extraordinary!
We started with the traditional couvert (Alentejo bread, olives and butter) followed by a bowl of spinach soup and immediately followed by stewed veal and cod with cream, all very tasty!
For dessert we ordered a chocolate mousse (homemade) and a semi-cold wooden leg, which were also very delicious.
To finish, two coffees.
We paid around €23 for the meal and I can say that it was much better than the dinner the previous day where I paid in a much more traditional and not so modest place, more than double and we didn't eat that well!
In short, for those looking to eat well and don't look at "luxuries", I can only say, visit! Judging by what we ate, you won't regret it!

“Lunch for 3, we paid just over 45 euros. We ate soup of the day, caldo verde and it wasn't anything special, plus the chorizo was far below what is expected in this area. The dish of the day cost 8.5 euros and was Bacalhau à Brás, I wasn't impressed, on the contrary there was a platter for 2 people which was the same for the tables of 1 person, if I hadn't had soup as a starter it might not have been enough, however mr. The person who served us was very attentive and offered replacement if necessary. On the other hand, the grilled meats were good and the pala pala fries were great. If I went back I would try the chicken which looked good. We didn't try dessert.
