We stumbled across this family owned restaurant and enjoyed a “meal of a lifetime.” Mussels, grilled squid and salmon were our main dishes and they were complemented by fresh salads and fish soup. The lemon mousse that finished our meal was pure perfection. When you are in Nazaré, make time to eat a meal at Restaurante Gil Vincente. You won’t be disappointed.
We found this whilst walking around upon arrival and decided to come for dinner after looking at the menu. A bijou and cosy little family run restaurant with a superb (and reasonably priced) wine selection. Having been travelling most of the day, we turned up hungry so went for the mixed fish platter for 2. As you can see from the picture, it was truly a mixed fish platter consisting of mussels (in a rich tomato sauce) with veg, 4 huge sardines, tuna, sea bream, dorado and squid....
We ordered the steamed seafood platter/bowl for two. It was great; taste, huge portion, and value. We were on a day trip, I wish we could have gone back for dinner. Service was excellent. The overall experience was great - a rainy day, a bit tired and sore from walking, the ocean only blocks away, and dreaming of surfing. If you are in Nazare, you gotta go.
