Couldn’t have finished off a week of travelling the wonderful Algarve region in any better way!! This restaurant and its location, is absolutely stunning… The food was delicious, staff ultra friendly and what a magical sunset view. This has been left on our to visit list upon our return trip in years to come!

We had a delightful lunch at Casa do Rio, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The view is breathtaking, offering a stunning panorama of Portimão, the iconic Ponte Nova de Arade bridge, and the wealth of water birds along the Arade River. The setting is truly exceptional. We ordered the tuna, and the presentation was impressive (see picture). The tuna was perfectly cooked – bravo to the chef! Additionally, the black pork was incredibly flavorful and tender. Once again, compliments to the chef. Casa do Rio provides an outstanding dining experience with its excellent food and spectacular views. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

An ode to Casa de Rio: Delicious cuisine at decent prices One evening, by chance, after visiting the beach we ended up in a jewel Casa de Rio. Without reservations, but with open hearts and hungry stomachs, we were welcomed into the arms of an unforgettable culinary journey. The incomparable prawns in a creamy curry sauce and the delicate wolffish pampered our senses. The spices danced on our tongues while a fine white wine gently embraced the flavors and the heavenly view of the setting sun made our hearts smile. The reception was lovely and accommodating without being intrusive. We felt like we were in a cocoon of warmth and sophistication. A wonderful place that we fully recommend, Casa de Rio is a temple for gourmets looking for fine cuisine at fair prices. Let yourself be enchanted by the culinary creations and immerse yourself in a symphony of taste and atmosphere - an enchanting experience that you will never forget.

Very nice place right on the banks of rio Arade. The service was excellent and the food very good. The view during sunset is spectacular. Our waitresses were very attentive and helpful. The quality of the food and the location is worth the extra Euro spent in comparison to other places.

One of the best restaurants I've visited in the area for a long time, our family has been in the area for around 15 years now.
We were recommended by another couple within our resort and attended as a table of 6. Arriving as the sun was setting we were greeted by wonderful views across the river while we had a pre dinner cocktail.
The drinks menu is extensive and contains high quality wine. We opted for both white and red Portuguese wines which were very nice.
Our dinner was not rushed, the staff let us enjoy our drinks on the terrace before retiring inside to order our food. The food menu is fairly small but again, high quality.
Food ordered we sat and relaxed in the well decorated and spacious restaurant area. The staff were very attentive and helpful from start to finish.
I opted for the pork belly bao buns to start which were delicious, the pork belly was so tender and had a little bit of spice from the spicy mayo sauce.
For main I had the beef loin which was cooked perfectly medium, a fantastic char to the outside of the steak to give it great texture as well as flavour. The steak was served as is, no sauce as such which I much prefer, it boasts the quality of the meat.
Dessert was a walnut cheesecake which I shared with my wife, or at least tried to - it was so tasty she claimed she was unsure what happened to the missing 60% of the cheesecake?!
Overall we had a very enjoyable meal here, I'd suggest it be a treat night type venue. It's still reasonable for the quality of the food but being a small menu and rich food you could easily overdo it. I'd be interested to know how often the menu changes.
Most recommended, take a visit and you'll be sure to enjoy it.
