Wow! Portugal has very good food normally. The Cesar salad, picture attached, was less than grocery-store-in-a-bag quality. It was drenched in a heavy and gunky mayonnaise-based dressing, had very little Parmesan, and no sign of anchovies or balancing acidity. Definitely expected something else at 17€+ The chicken wrap was worthy of a fast food menu. We stayed at the hotel but avoided their restaurants after this.

Restaurant that is part of the Palácio Estoril hotel, with a sophisticated and calm atmosphere.Unlike the Four Seasons Grill (which is also part of the hotel), this restaurant did not give us a specific menu because we had half board included. Letting us choose any items from the main menu. Much more pleasant. The food was at a much higher standard compared to the Four Seasons. The Salmon Tartar and Shrimp Aguachile were superb. Dishes with lots of flavor and very fresh. We had the Entrecôte as our main course, which wasn't exactly the most elegant piece presented. At the same table we ordered the same dish and in some the piece of meat was much larger than in others... In terms of flavor it was pleasant, accompanied with a sauce of your choice, as well as the side dish. The desserts were also delicious. Delicious creme brûlée.In terms of service and because we included a wine supplement, there was some confusion in understanding what quantities we were entitled to. In the end, 3 bottles of wine were served for 6 people and it seemed reasonable to us.

Great lunch, the fishermen buffet was really nice, a wide range of seafood to choose from, staff always attending to your needs, great atmosphere and not too expensive considering that drinks were included.

avoid at all costs. Food doesn’t taste good at all , they use low quality products. The staff doesn’t have a clue about what they are doing , the service is shameful.

The worst meal with the worst service for the highest price during my one week in Estoril! First, I couldn't get anyone to take my order - after waiting 15 minutes, a waiter took the order of the table next to me and started walking away. I said "excuse me", he snapped "I'll be right back". He never returned. Eventually, a different waiter that knew nothing about the menu or wine took my order and delivered my salad, without the dressing on the side, as requested, and I never saw him again. The meal - a simple caesar salad for 17 euro, was 50 cents worth of iceberg lettuce and 4 tasteless shrimp. The only thing this train wreck of a restaurant had going for it was the lovely setting.

(Translated by Google) In this place I saw a customer fall to the ground because he tripped on a trap step. A great danger that everyone knows except those who go there for the first time. It is inconceivable that (easy) measures have not been taken to eliminate this tremendous danger. Nor are there toilets designed for disabled people. The ambiance of the veranda restaurant is "cold" and with a very unwelcoming decoration. The service is well organized and friendly.

I have been to many restaurants, all over the world. Bougainvillea Terrace is a fantastic one. On the one end the food is great, the dishes delicate and the cuisine fantastic. Critics may say that the menu is a bit dated, but I personally loved every item I tried from the menu. Now, where this restaurant really shines above any of its peers in food quality is in the service area. Everyone in the staff of this restaurant performs their work with art level pride, dedication and excellence. This is something I had not seen, other than in restaurants with 5 Michelin forks and spoons, defined as "Luxury in the traditional style", like the Plaza Athenee. To top it all, the restaurant is NOT more expensive than comparable options with not even close to this service level. So, definitely worth a visit.

We had high hopes for a 5 star experience. The scene was set on the nice terrace overlooking the pool, but from there it went down. The service was like in ‘Fawlty Towers’ and the food was tasteless. We had some hors d’oeuvre that tasted like soft boiled eggs and after that we had the Cod loin that was chewy and the potatoes and spinach accompanying it was cooked to death. The moment of the evening was when one of the waiters managed to tilt a cooler with ice, water and white wine all over a helpless couple.

Although the reviews of this hotel/restaurant were not very flattering we hoped that the bad reviews would have induced management to work on their hospitality and decided to venture a visit and see for ourselves. Upon our arrival a uniformed doorman was standing in front of the hotel doors. When he noticed we had parked our car and approached, he stepped inside, closed the doors and disappeared. When we arrived at the heavy glass doors, nobody inside moved a muscle but made us push the heavy glass doors ourselves. When we entered we noticed the uniformed doorman, a receptionist and another elderly employee in sleeveless vest all behind the reception counter staring at us without saying a word. Although we were not made particularly welcome, we had the nerve to ask them if one of them could direct us towards the restaurant. The sleeveless vest approached without saying anything and led us through the bar to the restaurant. When we crossed the bar, the barman cheerfully called welcome to us. The first person to open his mouth and say anything to us. Fortunately the restaurant staff were all very friendly and professional and in the end we had a nice meal notwithstanding the hostile reception. However, for a 5* hotel, we would have expected more hospitality and professionalism at the entrance. Although we are an elderly couple (same age range as the doorman), decently dressed and groomed and used to staying at 5* hotels, we were treated like aliens from another planet.
