Super lieve vriendelijke uitbater.

What a lovely wine bar in the heart of Calheta. Welcoming owner and so friendly. Could have stayed all day chatting with her. Lovely views and great wine and platters. Must visit ! Love from Daniela & Alan -

Absolute local gem and worth a visit. We ended an already wonderful evening there with a good bottle of wine on the terrace and conversation with the very friendly owner and her adorable dog. Highly recommend.

A very pleasant experience, would definitely recommend. Our host was very passionate about the wine and local produce served on the cheese and meat board. We bought a bottle of wine and the sharing platter. The view from the balcony area is exceptional, great view of the sea and surrounding villages.

Cozy little bar.
Unfortunately, we do not sell Madeira wine by the glass, so there is no possibility of tasting different wines.
Very local.

We had the best of times there. The owner is more then welcoming and super knowledgeable about wines.
Prices are super fair and perfectly served.
But to be honest: the real start of the show is Oscar, the Dog of the Bar.
He is the sweetest good boy and loves to hang around with the guests.
Will definitly come back and recommend!

We went twice during our 3 days in the area and it was great both times. Fantastic wines from across Portugal and the service was top notch. Oscar the dog is an added bonus! Highly recommend if you want a real local experience and hospitality!

We had a hearth warming welcome at this lovely wine bar. The enormous wine menu is not printed and mainly focused on Portuguese and especially Madeira wines. You have to ask the owner about a recommendation, she will find the best wine for your taste. We had a local white wine, a verdelho from Colombo, along with the super delicious cheese and sausage plate.

Big disappointment this evening... As tourists and after following comments on Google for 5 days on the island without ever having been disappointed, here, total incomprehension. When we arrived, no price card, no oral price announcement either. We wanted to have a drink and something to eat.
Only one red wine, only one white wine by the glass (already surprising for a wine bar). Neither of them was from Madeira by the way.
To eat, the only option was a charcuterie and/or cheese board.
The wines arrived served, no information on the contents other than a "Douro" origin.
Everything was good.
The real surprise arrived at the time of the bill, closer to our Parisian habits than those acquired on the island since the start of our stay. €4 per glass of wine (each). 17€ per mixed plate. €3.50 per bottle of water. In short, we didn't expect it. We should have remained vigilant.
The icing on the cake, when paying, the card machine does not work (not announced at the start of the glass either) and the printer neither (no invoice given).
It is possible that without intending to do so, we came across the place to be for the wealthy people of the neighborhood, but the aftertaste of having paid the tourist tax remains in our throats.
