Amazing food, sweet vibes and the desses bolo do barão de alcáçovas is to die for. We had lombo and secretos and they were both amazing. Would recommend to locals and tourists. The service was very good and people were very nice

A very good restaurant, well served and decorated. Attentive waiters. Parking a car is somewhat complicated. But it's worth.

Beware...The owner will bring you bread, 6 small slices of 2 different cheeses on a boad, and second small board of ham. (You feel awkward to say no because he just sits it down in front of you). You will be charged 26.5 euros for this basic appetizer!! The hotel had made a reservation. When we arrived the owner said we are full in a very unwelcoming way and waved his hand for us to leave and turned his back to us. We then explained that we had a reservation...he still said no we are full still rudely waving us off. We told him the reservation name and he came back and seated us.   Wish we had of left! The partridge pie (charged more than what the menu listed) was very good. Rock music played the entire time. He did apologize but it was not at all the dining experience I had wished for.

Very interesting looking place, a set piece in history sort of.

We were given a table in the narrow hallway and there was absolutely no ventilation, while there was an air conditioner it was displaying an error E9 and did nothing to dispel the humid damp air.

The garlic prawns Starter was delicious, batter fried heek was was tasty. But the black pork was dry and we were given some olive oil to make it wet.

The bill came in at 100 euros the most we paid for a dinner in Portugal.

I stopped by for lunch and was the only person in the place for most of my meal. The food and wine were lovely. The gentleman who served me kind and charming. However, I walked out after paying dinner time prices for a dinner meal at lunchtime. 36€ for an entree, glass of wine and water.

Would highly recommend for dinner (not lunch) and definitely make reservations!

Perhaps the best meal we had in Portugal amid a trip of amazing meals. The egg appetizer was incredible and the fried octopus exceptionally tender. They served us some cheeses that were incredible and the wine that was suggested was wonderful. This is a tiny gem and I highly recommend that you make a reservation if you are visiting Évora.

What a delectable dinner we had - we ate beef and veal filet mignon - both were succulent and prepared to be highlighted with just the right amount of seasoning - and what can we say about the pear macerated in champagne accompanied by a scoop of ice cream to seal in the flavors. Not to be missed, but as the restaurant run by a Portuguese couple only has a few tables, you should reserve.

Three of us had dinner at this little bistro in April 2024. Miguel, the proprietor was so wonderful and friendly. The food was superb and it ranks as one of the best dinners we had during our 12 days in Portugal.

The best dinner we have had in Portugal to date. Found it last minute after striking out with reservations on my original two choices. Called up and was able to get a table. The restaurant is small and only holds about 10 tables. Miguel greeted us and escorted us to a small room that had table seatings for parties of 2 and 6. The ceramic tiles adorning the walls are covered with writings from past guests and it was really charming. We were soon joined by the guests at the other table in the room and given the small space we soon joined in conversation and really hit it off which was a warm turn of events.Miguel is a wonderful host and the food was absolutely delicious. Restaurant is a 2 person show with Miguel’s wife, Marguerite (just winging the spelling!) does the cooking while Miguel works the floor. It makes for a personalized experience and I highly recommend making this a must try when in Evora.

We found this gem wandering the streets of the Old City and were warmly greeted by Miguel when we entered the cosy restaurant. With no menu to translate and limited Portuguese we went on a culinary adventure that made our mouths sing of flavour. Starting with the selection of the wine, a handwritten menu and Miguel’s personal service turned a lunch into a life memory. Moito obrigado Miguel!!THE TRAVELING HAT

The food was very good, the portions a bit too small. A potato wedge with a steak? :) The wine was very good, but the Ravasqueira Reserva da Familia 2021 costs 15 euros in the winery and we paid over 40 euros a bottle in the store. We didn't think that was right afterwards. Everyone has to live, but 30 euros would have been ok. The service was excellent and the ambience is very characteristic, hence 4 stars. The bill was 150 EUR for two people, a bit too high for our taste.
