That feeling of going to eat at your "grandparents' house... Typical Portuguese restaurant that complements what is also so much ours, Fado. We had dinner on a Friday at the end of October 2023, we ate well, from the starters with the typical sautéed asparagus, to the main dish, the local delicacy, migas with ribs. The atmosphere was exceptional, as a family, while we ate we could still appreciate the enormous talent of the local artists and fado singers who always treated us to Fado classics. A special thanks to D. Esperança, responsible for the space, who also cooks, serves tables, welcomes guests and sings. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes good homemade food combined with our culture, which is Fado.

Good music and good atmosphere but we had a problem with payment: we were in a large group and the owner insisted that a table had not been paid for, which was not true. Very unpleasant

This was our second trip to Portugal but on this trip, spent more time in Spain. We left Seville and drove to Evora to spend the last two nights of our vacation. We did not get to hear Fado on first trip and asked the owner of our AirBnB, he recommended this place. He called the owner and secured reservations for us. We got there at 0730 but found out the show would not really start until about 9. The atmosphere was incredible, small, and perfect. The owner took care of us personally, we had appetizer first and then a fantastic mixed seafood cooked in a broth, for two. It was delicious! The restaurant began to fill with customers and what we found out was about 7 Fado singers. A brother and sister were the musicians/singers but then several others joined in to perform solos…..it was magical. They finished and most everyone paid their bill and we thought it was over. However the owner suggested we stay, so we moved up closer to the musicians and it truly felt like you were in family living room, they all took turns singing. The owner eventually sang and closed down the night! We had to leave for the airport early the next morning but we did not care it was a late night, it was very special and I would highly recommend it!

I had not much time but still managed to have a nice lunch. I had the traditional soup from Alentejo with caçao (very tasty) and some cheese as starter. The atmosphere is very tranquil but beautiful fado music at the background. And the two lady hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend

Maybe not the best food or fado in Portugal - Lisbon gets the award there - but I will guarantee you will have the best time ever with great authentic Portuguese food and fabulous authentic local fado singing. We were so well looked after that we felt like family and fell in love with everyone and the music was sublime. The waiters sang, the professional singers sang, the neighbours sang, even the owner sang - with passion, enjoyment and emotion. We stayed until after midnight and if they served breakfast we probably would have stayed all night. Save yourself from a tourist fado programme and find joy at Cada de Fado

My sister and I had not heard Fado before, and enjoyed every minute. You don't need to understand the words to experience the feeling. Food was delicious -- say yes to the pork and clams -- and be careful, the house white goes down very easily. No website, so our hotel called ahead and arranged it. Just go.

(Translated by Google) Typical Portuguese family place, with great service and quality food. We made the reservation by mail and they provided it to us quickly and just as we requested it. Very good fadistas, giving everything. We were a group and we all left the evening very satisfied.(Original)Lugar típico portugués, familiar, con una atención estupenda y comida de calidad. (Translated by Google) Simply the most fantastic, tasty and exciting night we've ever had in Portugal. Esperança, the owner of the place, in addition to seeing us personally (and for her birthday on this day), gave us a wonderful fado show, singing with the company of wonderful artists from this Portuguese musical icon. They even sang "A Noite do Meu Bem". And of course mushrooms, dogfish, prawns and divine clams! Obrigado!

(Translated by Google) Characteristic atmosphere of a fado house, but ask for the letter before ordering anything so you don't have a surprise when paying!(Original)Ambiente característico de uma casa de fado, mas peça a carta antes de pedirem alguma coisa para nao terem uma surpresa na hora de pagar!

My daughter, who now lives in Lisbon, and I (New York) visited to experience Fado and have dinner. Please take the time to enjoy this unique experience. Service is slow but comfortable, the food is quite good, and the music was a fantastic experience with talented and accomplished singers and musicians. This will be one of those unforgettable nights out, no doubt! Authentic.
