The food was very good but a language barrier caused an issue with one of our orders. Something lost in the communication with our server. Server removed a sauce from an order when NO such instructions were given. We simply pointed to the entrees we wanted on the menu.

Fish was overcooked. Croquettes were just tasteless, dense, mush. The other starter and main were OK but nothing special. Just elevated tasca food, in looks not substance.
We chose a light 9% wine and it was super sweet. The waiting had no idea that it was and never saod anything and we had to take the bottle with us and order another one to drink at the restaurant with the food. It's baffling that a restaurant at this level has staff with no knowledge of the local wines they are selling, and the fact that we had to keep the bottle after tasting.

Interestingly, I tried to go to this restaurant two - unsuccessfully - times. The first time, a few years ago, we arrived from our trip tired but a little late and, although it was still open, they didn't allow us to enter because the kitchen was "about to close" (or closed, I don't know). Yesterday, midsummer Friday, I called to book, was not answered and I risked going straight. To arrive and discover it was closed. It's a shame, but I don't consider this a 3rd opportunity and I won't recommend it to the clients I serve.

Great gastronomic experience. Excellent service and high quality traditional Alentejo food. It's worth a visit if you pass through Évora.
This restaurant was given high praise by the Rick Steves guidebook as being where he eats when he visits Évora. We went for lunch and loved our meal! Our waiter Andre (young man with glasses), patiently explained the menu specials which were only printed in Portuguese and provided the best service. The roast lamb was particularly outstanding.

This is a lovely restaurant the food was excellent and the service friendly and helpful. We were visiting from the Uk and the waitress did a great job of translating the specials menu for us. Not a complaint but we ordered too much! A starter each and a main course was too much food! Overall definitely recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately the experience was terrible because of the poor table management. Lack of sincerity on the part of Mr. Luís, who successively told us that our table would be almost ready: we waited 1:15h. When we had been waiting for more than 45 minutes, a table of 6 people came out, that table was cleaned and placed again but it remained empty until the end of the night (we had to wait another half hour for another table when it was there most of the time available). The food was ok, but given the disregard and disrespect the employee had for customers and their time, I can't give a positive review.
