The space is bright and beautiful. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and most important, the food is excellent. We shared a multitude of small plates and a couple of bottles of Quinto wine recommended by our server that was superb. We watched multiple dining parties get turned away from the Michelin-star rated restaurant across the street who would’ve been very happy if they had booked Dona Laura instead. Hands-down, our best meal in Portugal to date.

We “stumbled” into this restaurant. What a surprise! Fantastic food at very reasonable prices. Probably the best restaurant we have eaten in Portugal! And we we have tried approximately 50 also many high end ones. Waiters don’t speak english and we loved it. They make it up with friendlyness?

It is incomprehensible to us how this restaurant gets such good reviews. We had the feeling that we had ended up at a completely different restaurant. Except for a few tables, the restaurant was empty and without atmosphere. With some reluctance we were directed to the digital menu and the cold starters arrived. We were unsure whether to go but decided to stay and had the ham. It had been there for half the day because the normally wonderfully soft ham that melts on your tongue was dry and hard. We asked for a glass of wine and told about our preferences. The house wine would be fine. The enormous wine collection created high expectations. The house wine was fine. But bad advice given the specified preferences. We ordered the prawns with garlic and basil. The prawns were well prepared, but the oil contained sugar or honey and that was very unpleasant. We decided to give it one last chance and ordered the goat cheese and salmon in puff pastry. These were certainly not bad, but not great either. The bottle of wine that we then selected ourselves was much better and now that it turned out that we had some money, we even saw a friendly smile from the staff. Yet we had an expensive meal by local standards due to substandard quality of service, food and atmosphere. We would certainly not recommend this restaurant.

Wine bar serving excellent snacks, such as tapas, typical local snacks. Very pleasant environment, good value for money. The online menu needs to be improved as it is not very user friendly and the service is not attentive to taking orders because it makes the customer wait too long.
