What a gem! This restaurant is located down a very narrow cobbled side street. The dining room was simple and tasteful and had a really nice feeling to it with the nicely set tables. You are not crammed in as you may be in other places, but the space is still intimate and comfortable. The food was outstanding. You could taste the high quality of the local, fresh ingredients. The main dishes were delicious, but all the side vegetables were equally good and, I think, deserve to be featured as mains. I just can’t overstate how good the food is. And, contrary to a few of the reviews I read and thankfully ignored, the prices are beyond reasonable. We were very hungry and absolutely stuffed ourselves with 5 appetizers, two mains that were very large, a dessert, a beer, a bottle of water, and two very good glasses of wine for . . . about $90. Service was outstanding as well.

There are several small dishes of food on the table when you arrive. If I see food on a table when I arrive, I’d imagine it’s complimentary - the same way bread and butter typically is (since we didn’t ask for it). No one tells you that they’re roughly $6 for each small plate. We would not have touched any of them if we knew this. The bill came to about $60 and we had NO idea it would be so costly. Why would you leave a lot of plates of food on the table (that we did not order) and then sneakily charge us for them… even the bread? If we didn’t touch them, would you give them to another customer? Even if they’ve been sitting in front of us? The rest of the food was just ok. I would not return.

Terrible place as I walked in. None of the staff acknowledged me. Asked for a glass of wine to review menu and they said no. Must have dinner to have a drink. Bad attitude by all staff members. Felt not welcomed at all! Glad we left!

When you go to a restaurant with a review and values (price) like this one... you expect a good experience on all levels... first and foremost because of the service!The food was good (although the portions that were served were not at all in sufficient quantity... I even have doubts that they were the ones that were paid for) but when you order the same dish you run that risk, which is regrettable.But back to the beginning... the worst service I've seen in my beloved Alentejo (in which a young man with no training whatsoever, no professional panache... was just worried about paying attention and receiving a good tip from an English couple... a family experience which was ruined by the worst service I've seen! It's not worth the price and I don't recommend this restaurant!

Very good service, the waiter very attentive.Los Petiscos, waiting for the day that the restaurants that continue to offer them stop doing so or do not charge them...?Not the scarce cod, the following... honestly I have eaten in dozens of places portions twice as generous for less money... for me those two pieces of cod are not worth €45, much less are they two portions... I honestly thought that the waiter had not noticed found out and had brought a ration...€70 for what you see in the photo, a bottle of water, a dessert and a piece of cheese…We have gone on a recommended rebound but I would not return, much less recommend it…
