The food was good but very expensive for the quantity. We have to be careful because without us asking before we arrive, tickets are already placed, we don't like that and we feel that it was really an abuse, to trap tourists. And in this way further increase the amount we pay. And the timetable says it opens at 12:30 but on the day we went that didn't happen. We had a reservation for 1pm but we were traveling and as we arrived earlier we went straight to the restaurant as we thought it would already be open.

Another pleasant surprise in Évora. Mr Oliveira's friendliness and extremely well prepared and tasty food. 12 seats only. Without reservation, impossible. At the entrance, a sheep's cheese of the Gods and a partridge pie. Main dishes include shrimp with green herbs - souflê (champion of the day), cod and lamb with potatoes. All accompanied by a 15° red from Tiago Cabaço, from the tasty Alicante Boushet grape.

I went to this restaurant twice and both times it did not disappoint. Be sure to go if you are in Évora and want to have an unforgettable gastronomic experience. It's not cheap, but it's worth what you pay. The amount spent on this review includes many starters, wine, water, main course, dessert and coffee.

A local on the street recommended this restaurant and it was wonderful. It is small with lots of memorabilia on the walls and the owner helped us with his very authentic menu and we had a magical lunch. A real gem with excellent food and the desserts were stunning. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Temple and well worth it after a morning of sightseeing.

It may seem strange, but this review is based solely on the service (we didn't get to have a meal). We called at 1:15 pm to find out if it was possible to reserve a table for 2:30 pm for 4 people (two adults and two children). They respond with an air of annoyance... "14:30 is too far...for us... only until 14:00"... and add "you see we don't have food for children" (whatever that is What it will be). I ask for a few seconds to confirm with my wife... They disconnect my call.Good. I made a point of calling back to confirm that we didn't want to reserve a table and to thank you for your kindness. It's a shame.

I've been to many restaurants and rarely leave reviews. Oliveira's tavern probably provided my wife and me with the best meals I've had in recent years. A word of thanks for the kindness and carefully prepared food, made with love for Alentejo cuisine. The partridge pie and the best cod pataniscas stand out. Divine coriander dogfish and pigeon rice with black pork bacon and sausage. To finish, the golden soup. What a glorious way to end a meal that will be missed. Negative point: where can I go to eat so well now? Thanks!

We had a wonderful lunch with chef patron Manuel serving us a range of Portuguese entres and dishes, along with a great wine choice for us (local Alentejo wine Disidente). The patanisca de bacalhau (cod fish patty) is a delicate version, almost like a tempura, very skillful. My friend's spinach and shrimp dish was excellent!Open since 1996, this cozy and intimate restaurant, the meal closed with incomparable Portuguese deserts that we had not had anywhere else.
Great. Starters, food and desserts. But the best of all is Mr. Oliveira’s attention ?

For me, the best restaurant in Évora. Cod pataniscas and shrimp and spinach soufflé are delicious.
