As someone who lived in China for 10 years, I can quite honestly say that my plate of fried rice with shrimps failed. And fried rice, together with fried flat noodles with beef, are the two basic tests of a Chinese chef’s culinary skills.There is probably nothing wrong with the cooking process. My plate of fried rice came piping hot with sufficient wok heat. The portion was huge and they were generous with number of shrimps added and the amount of eggs. It was the rice itself that let the whole dish down - it was undercooked. You can literally hear the crunch of the rice when you chew on it.Price wise it was unbeatable. At Euros7.30 including a can of Coke Zero, this must be the cheapest Chinese dinner I have ever had in Europe.Place is very small with a few tables inside the shop and some outside. Big groups will find it hard to find enough seats and certainly will not be together at one table.
