A very traditional restaurant right next to the start of a Serra de Ossa trail, and how good it felt! As it was the first time we went, the owner explained the entire menu to us in the good Alentejo way, and there are many delicacies to choose from. We ate dogfish soup and lamb stew, two local delicacies. Reasonable prices, and friendliness is free.

The food, typical Alentena, is wonderful! And the service was spectacular, very friendly and attentive! I had tomato soup with meat and I recommend it!

No English spoken here but with our limited Portuguese we had really wonderful interactions, and especially, really wonderful food. The friendliness of the incredibly attentive proprietors was unparalleled. We had a local dish of tomatoe soup with additions of sausage, egg, fish, and more. And we had pork cheeks. Exquisite. Not too fatty. Incredibly tender. They let us know that two servings would feed all four of us and it was true.
Add in an Alentejo vinho tinto and it was a marvelous meal. 5 stars. Only 4 minutes from the Convent of São Paulo hotel.

Simple people make a big difference. Good food, a lot of friendliness, a lot of knowledge. I awarded it 2 Michelin stars, it's well worth the detour!

To avoid at all costs. The owner is convinced he and his restaurant are very important. He was very rude, trying to force me to buy the complete menu. He was furious when I asked for a vegetable soup, cheese, bread, mushrooms and water - even knowing the soup costed 4,50 and the mushrooms 5,50! - The mushrooms were the worse - the caps served upside-down with two little squares of bacon in it, all bitter and unsavoury. Plus, they got the order wrong - although it was quite small, and brought me the soup at the end.For the whole thing plus a coffee I paid 18,50 Euros! The soup was good, though.

Everything was a disaster but especially the owner, unbelievable! I was never treated so badly in a restaurant in my life. Never go back and will never ever recommend this to anyone!

Good food, but in relation to the quantities, very expensive!!!!!The owner, not at all pleasant!!!
We ate a stew with little variety of ingredients that seemed quite expensive. You had to pay in cash, but the bill was written in pen on a notebook. Neither invoice nor ticket nor sheet.
